There is a ton of talk about the Yankees getting rid of A-Rod and he may have played his last game as a Yankee. I don't know who everybody's favorite team is in baseball, but would you take A-Rod on your team if they could somehow manage a trade for him?

As a phillies fan, I would not take him. He would be more of a distraction than a help. He is a great regular season player, but he has and always will suck in the playoffs. The Phils are not happy with just making the playoffs, they want more world series rings and A-Rod cannot help them do that.

Just curious what you thought are.

I am not sure I would take him either! Don't get me wrong, I think he is a good player but I get the impression that this ego is bigger than his talent at times! I've always believed it takes the right type of manager to coach big league egos! You can have all the talent in the world on a team but if you can't make them mesh together you got squat! (NBA's Phil Jackson was one of the greats at meshing huge egos together and making it work) whoever took a-rod would have a big meshing problem (if that makes sense) - in my humble opinion!

His numbers have been on the decline for 5 years, and the days of hitting 50 + HR and driving in 150 RBI are long gone. It's no wonder that at one point in his once thought illustrious career that he finally came out and admitted he was on steroids. Wherever he ends up and where he's been in the past there has always been some sort of controversy or self-centered inflated alter ego trip that has made him the player he is today. It's not about the team but moreso the image of a player who at one point you can say was one of the best at his position before he cheated tainting everything he's done and making him no more than an average player.

Funny but I have a hard time thinking of any big hits he's had in big games over the years...he's the classic "hit the 3-run homer when we are already up 7-1 to pad the stats" guy...every time he's come to the plate in the playoffs ever since I can remember I have never expected anything other than a strikeout...

Very nice thoughts. I agree with them all. I think he would do ok with certain teams. I guess the rumours are the Marlins are possible.

If the price was right, sure. But not for what he makes now. He's getting unfairly treated, IMO. NOBODY on that team is hitting. Hell, Cano's numbers are worse.

I'm not an A-Rod fan or anything, but he's one of the all time greats. Cheat or no cheat. And, he was the playoff MVP in 09, so he's done it before.

I must be gettin' old... I still think baseball is cool.

If the yank's were to eat a big load of that contract and he came at a well "bargain" price there are a lot of teams who would be in on the bidding. His numbers are not what they were for sure but he is still a better then average bat and maybe in a smaller market environment his ego problems somewhat lessen as he doesn't have that "big city" market and hype to try and impress. Would i want him on my fav teams roster well im not sure i guess it really depended on need , if he is the best option available for the right price at moment , would be worth the risk ego wise i think. And this year he is taking the beating media wise for a whole team of struggling bats , although some of it is deserved considering his salary.

It looks like he and the Yankees cannot wait to get the season over with. For him to be trying to pick up women during a game is sickening, at least I think so.
