Rockies manager Jim Tracy has resigned, the team announced Sunday.

Tracy had served as the team's manager since May 29, 2009, when he was promoted from the role of bench coach after the team fired Clint Hurdle. In parts of four seasons, Tracy was 294-308 as the skipper of the Rockies. They went 64-98 this season, marking the worst record in the 20-year history of the franchise.

“Jim Tracy is a man that has brought professionalism to the Rockies organization since 2009," Bill Geivett, Rockies senior vice president of major league operations, said in a release. “However, Jim has decided that he no longer wants to move forward as manager of the Colorado Rockies baseball club. We respect Jim's decision, and we wish Jim and his family the best of luck as we begin our search for the right person to become the next manager of our organization."

In 11 years as a big-league manager, Tracy has an 856-880 record in stints with the Rockies, Pirates and Dodgers.
