VIDEO: Ron Jaworski Apologizes For Curse Word, Creates Awkward Moment
by Brian Floyd • Sep 12, 2011 10:59 PM EDT
Ron Jaworski dropped the s-bomb on-air during Monday Night Football. It wasn't as though he was trying to say "sit" and slipped, either. It was as if he was at a sports bar, trying to describe a play to a friend after a few drinks. And it harmed all of our delicate ears in the process.
Of course, the moment was more funny than anything else, even if it will draw the ire of Jaworski's higher-ups. In fact, someone probably already screamed in his ear because Jaworski apologized for his on-air sailor mouth moment, creating one awkward situation in the booth.
It was nice of Jaworski to slip his apology into the mix between downs, but it made it all the more awkward. Instead of analysis or color commentary, he hurries through an apology, then tries to get back to his job. But it doesn't work.
That's a full six seconds of silence, if not more. I'm just imagining the rest of the booth sitting there dumbfounded, trying to figure out what's next. And you know Jon Gruden was thinking, "This guy is sincere. He owns up to his mistakes. This guy is a guy I'd want on my team."

I was watching the game when he said that and thought "WOW!! Did he say what I thought he said??"
Saw the article on Yahoo, and the last sentence read: "We accept your apology, Jaws. You're forgiven, especially because sitting in a booth with Jon Gruden all night could make even the most straitlaced man drop a few curse words."
That cracked me up.
If it wasn't for sports, I'd have nothing look forward to
