Report: NBA to implement longer All-Star break next season

by Alexander Wolff-si.com

The NBA built a longer All-Star break into the 2014-15 schedule, according to a report from Adrian Wojnarowski of Yahoo Sports. Under the new, longer break, teams will have at least eight days off between games.

Last season's All-Star game was held on Sunday, Feb. 16. Every team had at least six days off over the break.

This season, All-Star Weekend will be hosted jointly by the New York Knicks and Brooklyn Nets. The Barclays Center will host Friday and Saturday's events, including the three-point shootout and slam dunk contest, and the actual All-Star Game will be played Sunday night at Madison Square Garden.

After last year's All-Star Game, LeBron James advocated for a longer break, and commissioner Adam Silver said the NBA would consider giving players more of a rest.
