Stephen Nover Free Wednesday Play

St. Louis vs. Tampa Bay, 06/11/2014 19:10
Money Line: -130 St. Louis

The Rays continue to be strong fade material. Tampa Bay has the worst record in the majors and is 1-10 in its last 11 games versus a right-hander.

Tampa Bay is 1-14 in its last 15 games and has to face righty Michael Wacha, one of the best young pitchers in baseball. Wacha has made 13 starts and not allowed more than three runs in any of them.

Scoring figures to be a real problem for the Rays, who have been shut out in their last 28 innings.

Tampa Bay starter southpaw Erik Bedard has a 5.60 ERA in five outings against the Cardinals during the past three seasons. The Cardinals have defeated the last two lefties they've gone against - Mark Buehrle and Jason Vargas - during the past seven days. Those two are much better than the over-the-hill Bedard.

The Cardinals' hitting is a concern, but they have scored five or more runs in four of their last seven games.

(Editor's note: Stephen has his MLB Game of the Year for the first half of the season also going today. Stephen is coming off a perfect 3-0 Tuesday on his paid/free plays. Don't miss Stephen's strongest play of the season - a guaranteed winner with a never before lost angle.)
