A Western Conference Second Round series begins Saturday night when the Phoenix Suns, the fourth seed, visit the top seed Denver Nuggets. The two teams split the regular season series, but the Suns did win both games with their full lineup intact. Below is my NBA pick for the Suns vs Nuggets.

Phoenix Suns vs Denver Nuggets Betting Pick

The Pick: Phoenix Suns +2.5 @ Bookmaker

This game will be played at Ball Arena at 8:30 p.m. on Saturday, April 29, 2023.

Why Bet the Phoenix Suns:

✅ Phoenix was impressive in their first round series and have won four of their last five games played.

✅ Against Denver, the Suns have won eight of their last 11 meetings.

✅ The Nuggets, against Phoenix, have covered the spread in just one of their last six meetings.

Phoenix Suns Are a Title Contender

Phoenix played the fifth seed Los Angeles Clippers in the first round and comfortably won 4-1. It appeared the Suns may be in a battle, with Los Angeles taking game one on the road, but the Suns won game two and then got injury luck with Kawhi Leonard tearing his meniscus.

The Suns won two of the games by less than six points, but it never felt like they were going to lose another game after game two.

Devin Booker went off in round one and led the Suns with 37.2 points per game and 2.6 steals. Deandre Ayton grabbed a team high 11.2 rebounds per game and Chris Paul dished out 8.2 assists.

The Denver Nuggets Are Going Along with Their Business

Denver had a favorable first round matchup and dispatched the Minnesota Timberwolves in five games. The Nuggets were close to sweeping Minnesota, but Anthony Edwards went off in game four and willed the Timberwolves to an overtime win in game four. This was an ideal start to the playoffs for Denver as there were no injuries and not much stress.

Nikola Jokic nearly averaged a triple-double in the first round as he averaged 26.2 points per game, 12.4 rebounds, and 9.0 assists. Jamal Murray led the team with 27.2 points per game in their five-game series win over Minnesota.
