The 2021-22 NBA season continues Wednesday, March 23, with the interconference clash from Crypto.com Arena in Los Angeles, so we have prepared the best 76ers vs. Lakers betting pick along with the latest odds update on Bookmaker Sportsbook

Phila meets Los Angeles for the second and final time this regular season. Back on January 27, the 76ers thrashed off the Lakers 105-87 as 6-point home favorites.

The Sixers won three of their last four contests

The Philadelphia 76ers (44-27; 35-35-1 ATS) are coming off a 113-106 victory to the Miami Heat this past Monday. They decided to rest both James Harden and Joel Embiid, so Tyrese Maxey led the way with 28 points, five rebounds, and four assists. Shake Milton accounted for 20 points and six dimes off the bench, while Tobias Harris posted a line of 14 points, eight boards, and six assists.

Philadelphia has gone 3-1 straight up and 2-1-1 ATS over its last four outings. The 76ers have struggled to cover as of late, going 3-6-1 ATS in their previous ten showings at any location.

The Sixers are now tied with the Bucks and Celtics for the No. 2 seed in the East. They trail the top-seeded Miami Heat by two and a half games, so the 76ers are still alive in the chase for the No. 1 seed in their conference.

The Lakers aim for a rare straight W

The Los Angeles Lakers (31-41; 30-42 ATS) just wrapped up their four-game road trip, outlasting the Cleveland Cavaliers 131-120 as 5-point underdogs this past Monday. LeBron James posted his sixth triple-double of the season, finishing with 38 points, 11 rebounds, and 12 assists, while Russell Westbrook had 20 points and 11 dishes.

The Lakers recorded their second win in the last three outings, but they haven’t won two straight games since January 7, which tells a lot about their form. LeBron and his teammates have gone only 4-10 ATS over their previous 14 games overall.

Los Angeles occupies the No. 9 seed in the Western Conference. The Lakers sit one game ahead of the No. 10 seed and three games ahead of the No. 11 seed. They are still missing Anthony Davis, who’s recovering from an ankle injury.

Trends:

Philadelphia:

  • 6-1 ATS in the last seven games against the Lakers

LA Lakers:

  • 4-10 ATS in the last 14 games overall
  • 6-14 ATS in the last 20 games against the Atlantic Division
  • 1-4 ATS in the last five home games against Philadelphia

Philadelphia 76ers vs. Los Angeles Lakers Pick

The 76ers are coming in full strength, looking to extend their dominance over the Lakers. Phila is 8-2 SU and ATS in its previous ten matchups with Los Angeles, and I’m looking for the Sixers to beat the Lakers on the back of Joel Embiid.

Anthony Davis’ absence is a huge blow for the Lakers’ frontcourt, so Embiid should dominate at the low post. JoJo is tallying 30.1 points and 12.6 rebounds a night over his previous nine games. Of course, the Sixers will have to find a way to slow down LeBron James. Philadelphia ranks tenth in the NBA in points allowed per 100 possessions (110.3), while Tobias Harris and Matisse Thybulle will try to lock up James.

Pick: Take Philadelphia 76ers

The Total:

While the Lakers average 100.1 possessions per 48 minutes (tied-5th in the NBA), the 76ers record only 95.8 (29th). Philadelphia loves to take things slowly and feed Joel Embiid in the paint, so give me the under on the totals.

Six of the Lakers’ last eight contests have gone over the total, but the under is 5-2 in their previous seven outings on the home court. On the other side, the under is 5-3-1 in the 76ers’ last nine games overall.

Pick: Go under
