Game seven of an Eastern Conference Second Round series is set for Sunday afternoon when the Philadelphia 76ers visit the Boston Celtics. The Sixers were close to finishing this series off in game six, but the Celtics got themselves over the finish line and were able to force a game seven at home. Below is my NBA pick for the Philadelphia 76ers vs Boston Celtics.

Philadelphia 76ers vs Boston Celtics Betting Pick

The Pick: Boston Celtics -7.0

This game will be played at TD Garden at 3:30 p.m. on Sunday, May 14, 2023.

Why Bet the Boston Celtics:

✅ Boston has been good against the spread covering in 11 of their last 16 games played.

✅ The Celtics have won 10 of their last 13 home games, though they have lost two home games this series.

✅ Philadelphia has covered the spread in just three of their last 11 games against Boston.

Philadelphia 76ers Will Be Kicking Themselves

Philadelphia entered game six with a 3-2 series lead and were a few minutes away from finishing the Boston Celtics off. The Sixers were leading with under four minutes to go in game six, but the Celtics ended the game on a 14-1 scoring run to keep the series alive and get the series back to the home court.

Game six was not pretty, but it started with the Celtics winning the first quarter by seven points and holding on to that same advantage at halftime. Philadelphia woke up after halftime and led by two points going into the fourth quarter. It was a strange final 12 minutes that saw each team trade blows and ultimately it was the Celtics who earned the 95-86 victory.

In the loss, Joel Embiid led the Sixers with 26 points, 10 rebounds, and three blocks. It was a bad fourth quarter showing by the MVP. Tyrese Maxey added 26 points, five rebounds, three assists, and three steals on the night.

The Boston Celtics Are the Undertaker GIF

Boston started game six with more energy and built a nice lead, but a historically bad first three quarter by Jayson Tatum kept the Sixers in the game. However, it was a fantastic final six minutes by Tatum that gave Boston the win and pushed this series to a game seven.

In the game six win, Marcus Smart led the way with 22 points, seven rebounds, and seven assists. Jayson Tatum had 19 points, on just 5-21 shooting, nine rebounds, six assists, two steals, and two blocks on the night.
