Chasing the World Cup . . .

Monday's World Cup schedule has Portugal vs. North Korea, Chile vs. Switzerland, and Spain vs. Honduras. Spain is the biggest favorite for the day, as they're listed at -1000 to beat Honduras (+1800), with draw odds of +800. The Swiss, who blanked the Spaniards 1-0 in the tourney opener for both teams, are +230 underdogs against Chile (+120), with draw odds of +210, while Portugal is favored at -350 against North Korea (+900), with draw odds of +400. Chile blanked Honduras 1-0 in their first game of the tournament, North Korea fell 2-1 to Brazil, and Portugal tied Ivory Coast at 0-0.

Meeting up on the diamond . . .

There are just three games on the MLB schedule for Monday, with Kansas City at Washington, Cincinnati at Oakland, and the Yankees at Arizona. A.J. Burnett (6-5, 4.33 ERA) is expected to get the ball for New York in that last matchup, while Rodrigo Lopez (2-6, 4.70 ERA) takes to the mound for the Diamondbacks. Righthander Burnett has been tagged with the loss in each of his past three starts, giving up 16 earned runs on 20 hits over 16 innings against the Phillies, Orioles, and Blue Jays. Righthander Lopez has also lost three games in a row heading into Monday, and Arizona has lost eight of his past 10 starts. Lopez was beaten by the Red Sox in his most recent start, surrendering six earned runs on 10 hits over seven innings of work.

Rounding out the Roundup . . .

Roger Federer is the men's favorite to win at Wimbledon yet again this year, with the oddsmakers listing him at 11/8 for the tournament which gets underway on Monday. Federer's chief rival, Rafael Nadal, is next at 5/2 odds, with Andy Murray at 8/1, Andy Roddick at 12/1, and both Novak Djokovic and Robin Soderling at 20/1. Over on the women's side it's Serena Williams at the top of the odds list at 9/4, with sister Venus at 7/2, and Justine Henin at 6/1. Kim Clijsters is sitting at 9/1 odds to claim victory at the All England Club, with Maria Sharapova (10/1) , and Samantha Stosur (12/1) rounding out the top tier of favorites. This year's Wimbledon tournament will wrap up on July 4.
