The college hoops betting action goes on with a loaded Saturday card, so we’re taking a closer look at the Big 12 Conference showdown from Ed and Rae Schollmaier Arena in Fort Worth, Texas, to get you the best Oklahoma vs. TCU betting pick and odds.

According to Bookmaker Sportsbook, the Horned Frogs are small 1.5-point home underdogs with a total of 136.5 points. TCU is winless in eight straight meetings with the Sooners, who have gone 4-0-1 ATS in their previous five meetings with the Horned Frogs.

Oklahoma lost two of its last three contests

The Oklahoma Sooners (12-4; 8-8 ATS) fell to 2-2 in the conference play following a 66-52 defeat at the Texas Longhorns this past Tuesday. It was their second loss in the last three outings and second straight defeat on the road, as the Sooners lost at Baylor 84-74 last week.

Oklahoma is No. 35 in both of the latest KenPom rankings and NCAA NET Rankings. The Sooners tally 111.9 points per 100 possessions (40th in the country) on 50.6% shooting from the field (4th) and surrender 95.3 points in a return (38th) on 41.3% shooting from the field (105th).

Senior forward Tanner Groves leads the charge for the Sooners, averaging 13.5 points, 5.7 rebounds, and 2.1 assists per game. Junior forward Jalen Hill adds 9.6 points and 5.8 boards per contest, while senior guard Elijah Harkless has 10.1 points, 4.9 rebounds, and 2.3 dimes a night.

TCU won eight of its last nine games

The Horned Frogs (11-2; 6-5-2 ATS) improved to 1-1 in conference play following a 60-57 victory at the Kansas State Wildcats this past Wednesday. Playing as 3.5-point road underdogs, the Horned Frogs recorded their eighth win in the last nine showings along with last weekend’s 76-64 defeat to Baylor.

TCU is No. 54 in the NCAA NET Rankings and No. 60 in the KenPom rankings. The Horned Frogs score 107.6 points per 100 possessions (95th in the nation) on 43.0% shooting from the field (246th) and allow 95.8 points in a return (42nd) on 41.0% shooting from the field (94th).

Sophomore guard Mike Miles is TCU’s best player. He’s posting 17.8 points, 3.7 boards, and 4.8 assists per game. Junior forward Emanuel Miller tallies 10.5 points and 7.1 rebounds per game, while junior guard Damion Baugh adds 9.2 points and 4.0 assists a night.

Trends:

Oklahoma:

  • 8-2 ATS in the last ten games played in January
  • 4-0-1 ATS in the last five games against TCU

TCU:

  • 3-8 ATS in the last 11 games against the Big 12 Conference

Oklahoma vs. TCU Pick

The Horned Frogs are enjoying a nice season. Mike Miles overcame his wrist injury and went off for 19 points, 10 rebounds, and six assists in that road win at Kansas State. TCU will be fired up to finally beat the Sooners, who have dominated this matchup lately.

On the other side, the Sooners will be keen to bounce back from a heavy loss at Texas. They couldn’t cope with the Longhorns’ stout D, and I’m expecting the Sooners to do a much better job in a much favorable matchup with TCU. Frankly, this game could easily go either way, as both sides lack height and matchup each other well.

Pick: Take Oklahoma -1.5 at -110

The Total:

The Sooners have executed their offense very well thus far apart from a few games against some very good defensive teams. Still, Oklahoma records 67.6 possessions per 40 minutes, playing at a slow pace, while TCU averages only 66.8 possessions per 40 minutes (272nd in the country).

Therefore, I have to take the under, although we could easily see a tight battle down the stretch and a lot of free-throw attempts. TCU makes only 68.3% of its free throws (259th), while Oklahoma shoots 74.3% at the stripe (68th).

Pick: Go under 136.5 points at -110
