The NBA season is entering a new week with a seven-game slate on Monday, December 12, and this conference showdown in Dallas is one of them, so make sure you read the best Thunder vs. Mavericks betting pick and odds.

Both Oklahoma City and Dallas are hoping to avoid their third defeat in a row when they meet at American Airlines Center. The Mavericks are 7-point favorites on Bovada Sportsbook, while the total is set at N/A points. These conference rivals have met once this year, and the Thunder got to a 117-11 overtime victory in Dallas.

Thunder to conclude a five-game road trip on Monday

The Oklahoma City Thunder (11-15, 15-11-0 ATS) are currently on a five-game road trip and will conclude it against the Mavericks on Monday. After defeating the Timberwolves and Hawks, the Thunder suffered a pair of losses to the Grizzlies and Cavaliers. Oklahoma City’s offense wasn’t good enough in those two losses, particularly in the first half of the most recent game in Cleveland when the Thunder scored 46. They lost 110-102 despite a better display in the second 24 minutes.

Shai Gilgeous-Alexander led the Thunder with 23 points and two steals. Josh Giddey posted a double-double of 17 points and 13 rebounds, along with a team-high six assists, while Aleksej Pokusevski recorded a double-double of 16 points and game-high 14 boards with five dimes, and game-high three blocks.

SF Kenrich Williams (knee) won’t play in Monday’s game against the Mavericks.

Mavericks were dismantled by the Bulls

The Dallas Mavericks (13-13, 8-16-2 ATS) were on a fine run of three wins before a heartbreaking home loss to the Milwaukee Bucks. A night later, the Mavericks decided to rest Luka Doncic, which resulted in a 144-115 road defeat against the Chicago Bulls. It was a season-high 144 points allowed for the Mavs, a massive disappointment for one of the best defenses in the NBA. Dallas surrendered even 82 points in the opening half!

Spencer Dinwiddie led the Mavericks with 27 points, game-high eight assists, and four rebounds. Christian Wood followed him with 21 points and game-high nine boards, while JaVale McGee, Jaden Hardy, and Tim Hardaway combined for 45 points.

Luka Doncic was out against the Bulls with a right quadriceps strain, but in reality, Jason Kidd rested his star player. Dallas’ head coach voiced his displeasure about the hectic schedule of his team, and even though Doncic is currently listed as a game-time decision, the Slovenian wizard will likely play on Monday against the Thunder. SG/SF Josh Green (right elbow sprain) and PF/C Maxi Kleber (right foot soreness) are questionable to feature.

Trends:

Oklahoma City:

  • 3-7 ATS in the last ten games when playing on the road against Dallas

Dallas:

  • 16-5 ATS in the last 21 games following a straight-up loss of more than ten points
  • 7-1 ATS in the last eight games after allowing more than 125 points in their previous game

Oklahoma City Thunder vs. Dallas Mavericks Pick

Not only that I expect to see a much better defensive performance from the Mavericks here, but with Doncic back in the starting lineup, I expect plenty of points from the hosts. Dallas is perhaps not among the best offensive teams, but the Thunder have the second-worst defense in the NBA that allows 117.6 points per game. Luka will be fresh and ready for this one, and I wouldn’t be surprised if he registers the seventh triple-double of the campaign. OKC beat the Mavs the last time they met in Dallas, and this time around, I expect a bit of revenge.

Pick: Take the Mavericks at -7 (-100)

The Total

I do think the Mavericks are going to have a strong offensive showing, but I am not sure about the Thunder’s potential contribution in terms of points and Over bet. After allowing 144 in their last game, the Mavs will be highly motivated to bounce back, and considering the Thunder scored 102 points in each of their previous two games, I don’t expect the visitors to be very efficient here. Under is 7-3 in the last ten H2H meetings in Dallas; Under is 5-1 in the Thunder’s previous six road games, while Under is 4-1 in the Mavericks’ last five games after allowing more than 125 points in their previous game.

Pick: Go Under N/A points
