The Georgia Tech Yellow Jackets and the North Carolina Tar Heels are set to go to war with one another in the ACC Coastal Division on Saturday, and this should be one of the best games of the day. Join us for all of the NCAA football betting action at Bobby Dodd Stadium for this clash.
The Tar Heels haven’t done a lot this year, and they will have only played one game in a span of 17 days since their opener before they take the field in this one. UNC dropped a 40-20 victory on the Middle Tennessee State Blue Raiders two weeks ago, and the team hasn’t been heard from since. We definitely know that this team can throw the ball all over the place, and the argument could be made that QB Bryn Renner is one of the better quarterbacks in the ACC. Renner has only 533 yards and two TDs this year, but this is a game where he can get 500 total yards of offense on the board in a hurry. RB Romar Morris has talent, but he hasn’t gotten loose yet this year. The bread and butter for Head Coach Larry Fedora though, is the fact that Renner can spread the ball around to any number of wide receivers. He doesn’t have a receiver on his team with even 100 yards yet, but North Carolina does have three men with at least 90 yards and three others with at least 47 yards. When you’ve got six guys that are averaging over 20 yards per game receiving, you’ve got some real weapons that can cause problems.
Georgia Tech is one of the favorites this year in the ACC Coastal Division, and this might be the second straight season in which the team makes it to the ACC Championship Game. The Tar Heels are 2-0 SU and ATS thus far this year, but we haven’t learned much about a team that has only played against the Elon Phoenix and the Duke Blue Devils. Last week against Duke in a pivotal game in the ACC Coastal Division as well, the Ramblin’ Wreck went on the road and piled up 469 yards, 344 of which came on the ground. QB Vad Lee had five touchdowns, four of which came with his arm, and just that fact alone had to really send ACC coaches into a tizzy. If the Jackets are throwing for 125 yards and four TDs in a game, it’s any wonder what they can do now with this triple option attack with another dimension added to it.
Remember that there were 118 points on the board the last time that these two teams played, and save for RB Giovani Bernard now playing for the Cincinnati Bengals, there isn’t much in the way of change between these clubs. There’s a great chance that this game is going to fly past the ‘total’ as well.
