NHL Week 12 Betting Tips

After a relatively slow Monday, things pick up in the National Hockey League on Tuesday, as there are 12 games, including a showdown between Western Conference powers San Jose and St. Louis. The Sharks have come down to earth a little bit after their scorching start in part due to their mediocrity on the road, as San Jose is 9-6-3 away from home.

The Sharks now find themselves meeting a St. Louis team that is tough at home (13-2-2) and will be out to avenge November’s 6-3 loss in San Jose. With the Blues playing on Monday, the line will be kept down and St. Louis looks like a decent play as a small home favorite.

On the same day, the red-hot Vancouver Canucks take their seven-game winning streak to Minnesota to face the Wild, who have been lights out at home and less-than stellar away from home. The Wild are returning home after a brief three-game road trip and take to the road for four straight games after this one, making it a key game for the team and putting Minnesota in a decent spot in what will be close to an even contest.

On Friday, the Islanders and Rangers battle it out for the first time since late October and even with Sunday’s victory over Calgary, it’s hard not to notice the fall off in the play of the Rangers’ Henrik Lundqvist, who is posting very average stats. This game looks to be a decent over wager, especially if the sportsbooks post it at 5.

On Saturday, the Montreal Canadians visit Nashville in what should be a closely contested low-scoring game. Neither team scores a whole lot and Nashville’s Carter Hutton has put together three solid games in a row in goal. With Montreal’s Carey Price having a solid season, this game could be a good candidate to go under the total.
