The National Hockey League season continues Friday night with some exciting contests. The St. Louis Blues travel to Dallas to take on the Stars, while the New York Islanders face-off against the Winnipeg Jets. These are just two of the 11 games scheduled for December 29, 2017.

ATS TRENDS

Buffalo vs. New Jersey (-1.5), O/U 5.5

Buffalo is 5-1 against the spread over their last six games on the road and have gone 7-3 overall in their last 10 games. New Jersey is 6-1 in their last seven against the spread, and have also gone 5-1 in their last six games at home ATS. The big factor here may be that the Devils have won six of the last seven games between these two teams at the Prudential Center.

Columbus vs. Ottawa (-1.5), O/U 5.5

In their last six road games, Columbus has gone 4-2 against the spread. Ottawa is 5-2 ATS in their last seven games, but they have only gone 2-6 in their last eight home games against the spread. This looks like a good night to sale with Columbus.

Philadelphia vs. Tampa Bay (1.5), O/U 5.5

The Flyers are 8-1 in their last nine games on the road against the spread, but are only 2-5 in their last seven games against the spread overall. The Lightning are 5-2 in their last seven home games ATS, and have gone 9-4 against the spread in their last 13 overall. It’s not a shocking choice to go with the Lightning here.

Nashville vs. Minnesota (-1.5), O/U 5.5

In their last seven games, Nashville has gone 5-2 against the spread, and they are perfect 5-0 in their last five road games ATS. However, Nashville is 2-4 in their last six games against Minnesota against the spread. The Wild have gone 5-14 against the spread over their last 19 games. The Predators are clearly stalking the Wild in this one.

Calgary vs. Anaheim (-1.5), O/U 5.5

Calgary is only 2-4 in their last six games against the spread, but they have gone 5-0 in their last five road games ATS. The Flames are 4-11 in their last 15 games against the spread when playing the Ducks. Anaheim is 9-3 in their last 12 against the spread. Look for the Ducks to douse those Flames.

O/U TRENDS

Calgary vs. Anaheim (-1.5), O/U 5.5

Anaheim has gone under in eight of their last 10 games, and have gone under in each of their last five games at home. Calgary has gone under in five of their last six on the road and six of their last seven overall. Look for a low-scoring affair and this one.

St. Louis vs. Dallas (-1.5), O/U 5.5

The total has gone under in each of the last five games for the Blues, and they have gone under in four of the last five on the road. The total has gone over in five of the last seven when playing Dallas. The Stars have gone over in five of their last seven, and have gone over in four of their last five at home. No singing the blues if you go over in this one.

New York Islanders vs. Winnipeg (-1.5), O/U 6.0

New York has gone over in six of their last seven games, and they have gone over in four of the last five on the road. In the last seven games between these two teams, the total has gone over six times, and the total has gone over in five of the last six at Winnipeg. The Jets have gone over and 10 of the last 15 at home. There is a reason that the oddsmakers bucked the trend and put the over under at six. Look for these two teams to be soaring and go over.

Columbus vs. Ottawa (-1.5), O/U 5.5

Columbus has gone over in four of their last six games on the road, but the total has gone under in five of the last six games between these two teams at Ottawa. The Senators have gone under in five of the last six at home. It takes an act of Parliament for goals to be scored when these two teams play. Take the under.

SU TRENDS

Buffalo vs. New Jersey (-1.5), O/U 5.5

Buffalo is only 1-5 straight up in their last six games, and they are 0-5 in their last five road contests. The Sabres have also gone 1-6 in their last seven against New Jersey. The Devils are a perfect 5-0 in their last five games straight up, and are also 5-0 in their last five games at home. Look for Buffalo to be bedeviled.

Philadelphia vs. Tampa Bay (1.5), O/U 5.5

The Lightning are as hot as it gets, going 10-1 in their last 11 games straight up. They are 5-0 in their last five home games, and have gone 12-5 in their last 17 against Philadelphia, including going 9-1 in their last 10 at home against the Flyers. Don’t look for the Flyers to be soaring anytime soon.
