NHL – TRENDS OF THE DAY
After a busy day of 13 games on the schedule in the National Hockey League on Saturday, there are just three on tap for Sunday. However, one of the most exciting games of the season will be on display when the Vegas Golden Knights travel to take on the Washington Capitals in an early afternoon affair. The San Jose Sharks visiting the Carolina Hurricanes should also be an exciting contest.

Featured Games to Watch
- Vegas Golden Knights (+105) vs. Washington Capitals (-125)
Vegas is 15-10-2 on the road this season and they have gone 5-3-2 in their last 10. Washington is 19-7-1 at home this season and they are also 5-3-2 in their last 10. The Golden Knights have won nine of their last 11 games against Eastern Conference teams. They are 9-4 in their last 13 road games and have gone 19-7 in their last 26 games overall. Washington is 7-2 in their last nine against Western Conference foes. The Capitals have won 42 of their last 57 home games.
The Golden Knights have gone over in four of their last five road games. They have gone over in five of their last seven overall. Washington has gone over in four of their last five home games against teams with a winning road record and has gone over in five of their last seven.
This should be one of the most exciting games this season, and could easily have a Stanley Cup atmosphere to do. Look for Washington to pull out this close contest, 4-3.
- San Jose Sharks (+105) vs. Carolina Hurricanes (-125)
San Jose is 13-9-5 on the road this season and they are 5-3-2 in their last 10. Carolina is 12-8-4 at home this season and they are 5-5-0 in their last 10. The Sharks have won 12 of their last 17 games against teams with a losing record, but two trends of concern are that they have won only one of their last five games and have won only two of their last seven against teams from the Eastern Conference. Carolina has won only one of their last eight games against teams with a winning record and has won only two of their last seven games at home.
The home team has won the last five meetings between these two teams and the total has gone over in five of those six meetings. San Jose has won only one time in the last five meetings in Carolina.
The trends seem to be opposed to one another as San Jose is not playing well against teams out East but Carolina is struggling at home. The difference is that San Jose has struggled winning in Carolina, so take the Hurricanes, 4-2.
- Ottawa Senators (+145) vs. Montréal Canadiens (-165)
Montreal is 13-10-5 at home this season and they are 3-5-2 in their last 10. Ottawa is 7-13-4 on the road and they are 3-7-0 in their last 10. The Senators have won only seven of their last 26 games against teams with a losing record and have won only nine of their last 34 overall. They are 0-7 in their last seven road games against teams with a losing record at home. The Canadians are 5-12 in their last 17 games.
Ottawa has gone under in five of their last six games. Montréal has gone over in six of their last seven home games.
In the last six meetings between these two teams in Montréal, the total has gone under four times, and the total has gone under in three of the last five meetings. The home team has won four of the last five meetings and the Senators have won only once in the last five meetings in Montréal.
Montreal has dominated Ottawa at home lately, and we stay with that trend here. Take the Canadians, 3-0.
