In the last 23 meetings between these two teams in Columbus, the total has gone under 18 times. The road team has won five of the last seven games between these two teams.

The trend we stick with is that this game is going under, but we don’t expect San Jose to come in and win this game on the road. Take Columbus, 3-2.

  • Washington Capitals (+130) vs. Pittsburgh Penguins (-150)

Washington is 11-8-4 on the road this season and they are 6-2-2 in their last 10. Pittsburgh is 18-7-1 at home and they are 8-2-0 in their last 10. Vegas has won 11 of their last 14 against teams with a winning record and have won eight of their last 11 games on the road. The trends make this a difficult one to call, and both teams are 6-2-2 over their last 10. The Wild are just so tough at home, winning 17 of their 25 games, so we give them a slight edge, 3-2.

  • Detroit Red Wings (+145) vs. Carolina Hurricanes (-165)

Detroit has won three of their last 10 games on the road and has lost each of their last four games against teams with a losing record. The Red Wings have won five of the last six meetings in Carolina and the total has gone under in six of the last 10 meetings in Carolina. The road team has won six of the last eight meetings.

Neither team is playing particularly well, so we follow the trends in that Detroit just plays better in Carolina. Take the Red Wings, 2-1.
