A rare victory for us in the National Hockey League on Friday, as the Leafs got a late goal to knot the game at 3 and send it to overtime. Somewhat of a small slate on Saturday, with just six games.
Boston at Ottawa: The Bruins are healthy -175 favorites and the total on this one is 5.5-under (-115). I have this one at 6.1 goals primarily due to Ottawa’s poor defense at home, where they’re allowing 3.7 goals per game. Boston isn’t a high-scoring team, although Rask is 4-3 away from home and Anderson is 7-6 in home games. Will take a stab on the over 5.5 in this one.
New Jersey at Washington: The Capitals are -185 and 5.5-under against the Devils, who have yet to name their starter. Kinkaid is 4-2 in road games and Schneider is 6-4, so both Devils goalies have slight over tendencies. I made this one 5.9 goals and Holtby is 9-8 in home totals.
Montreal at Florida: The Panthers are -120 and the total is 5.5-under (-115) and I have this one at 6.75 goals, as the Panthers are a vastly different team at home, at least so far this year. Florida is 12-6 in home totals with Reimer sporting a 7-3 mark in front of the home fans and Price is 6-5 on the road, where he still has a sub-.900 save percentage.
Carolina at St. Louis: The Blues are -125 and the total is 5.5-under (-120) while I have this one at 5.6 goals. The Hurricanes are expected to start Scott Darling, who is 4-8 in road games, while the Blues will likely go with Carter Hutton, who is 0-4 at home. The Blues are 8-12 at home, while the Hurricanes are 8-11 on the road.
Minnesota at Nashville: The Predators are -165 and the total is 5.5-flat, the lone game today where you’re not asked to put more on the under. This is the second of a home-and-home series, with Minnesota winning 4-2 last night. I have this one at 6.7 goals and the Preds are 10-7 at home, with Rinne going 9-7 and the Wild are 12-6 on the road with Stalock going 5-3 away from home.

Los Angeles at Vancouver: The Kings are -140 with a total of 5.5-under (-135) and I have this one at 5.6 goals. The Kings are 7-9 on the road and Vancouver is 11-9 at home.
