Getting a little ridiculous here in the NHL, as I continue to stink it up, hitting an 0-8-1 stretch after a 2-0 start, but will keep battling it and see if we can get things turned around. Have tried a few different things, but to no avail so far and probably should stick with the original method, knowing there will be peaks and valleys.
Montreal at Tampa Bay: The Lightning are favored by -240 and the total is 6-under (-120). I made the number on this one 6.35 goals and the betting shows a slight reverse move to the under, as the total opened at 6-flat and has seen 70% of the wagers in the game coming in on the over.
Boston at Washington: The Capitals are favored -125 and the total is 5.5-under (-120) and I have this one at 5.45 goals. Like all seven games today, there have been more wagers on the over, although the line movement falls in line with the betting is one, which opened 5.5-under (-130). The Capitals have been shutout in two straight and home favorites off two straight shutouts are 13-21-7, so will grab the under in this spot for today.
Philadelphia at Florida: The Panthers are -115 and the total is 5.5-flat, while I have this one at 6.55 goals. The total hasn’t really moved despite roughly 70% of the bets coming in on the over.
Toronto at Arizona: The Leafs are -190 and the total is 6-under (-120) and I have this one at 5.9 goals. The betting has been the most even in this game, with 54% of the bets on the over. This one opened at 6-flat.
Chicago at Vancouver: The Blackhawks are -138 and the total here is 5.5-flat, which is pretty much the opening number. More than 70% of the wagers have come in on the over, while I have this one at 5.6.
Las Vegas at Los Angeles: The Kings are favored by -145 and the total is 5.5-under (-115) after opening 5.5-flat and seeing nearly 65% of the bets come in on the over. I made this one 5.95 on the strength of Las Vegas’ scoring averages, although the Kings have played solid defense lately, allowing four goals in the last three games.
Calgary at San Jose: The Sharks are -120 and the total is 5.5-under (-120) and I have it a 5.4 goals. The betting on this one has seen a slight majority of wagers on the over. The Sharks are 4-2 in their last six, but the Flames are on a 1-5 run.
