We were 13 seconds shy of evening our record, but a late goal by the Los Angeles Kings dropped us to 2-4 with our NHL totals plays of the day. A few of the losses have been frustrating, while a few were simply off the mark. Will keep plugging away and see if we can’t get things straightened out.
Just four games on today’s NHL schedule and lines were just posted on the last few, so we’ll get right to it.
St. Louis at Winnipeg: The Jets are -145 and the total just lowered slightly to 5.5-under (-115) and I have the total here at 6.35 goals, as Winnipeg is scoring 4.2 goals per game at home and the Blues average 3.2 goals on the road. The Jets are 9-5 in totals after a loss and the Blues are 8-13 following a victory. St. Louis is 9-10 against Western Conference teams and the Jets are 11-9.
Minnesota at Chicago: The Blackhawks are -180 and the total is 5.5, while I have this one at 6.1 goals, primarily due to the Wild allowing 3.5 goals per game on the road. Alex Stalock is expected to start between the pipes for the Wild and he’s 3-1 on the road so far this season. The Wild are 9-2-3 following a loss and Chicago is 7-7-1 after a victory and 3-2 after scoring five or more goals. The Wild have scored two goals in three straight games and are just 1-2 after back-to-back games of two goals or less. Will take a stab on the over in this one, as I can see Chicago scoring four goals and the Wild getting a few themselves.
Calgary at Vancouver: The Flames are -115 and the total is 5.5, which is exactly what I have it. The Flames are 6-9-1 after a loss and the Canucks are 4-10 after a victory. David Rittich is going to get the start for the Flames.
Florida at Las Vegas: The Golden Knights are -160 and the total is 6-under (-115), while I have this one at 5.6 goals. The Panthers are struggling to score on the road, having scored two or less goals in their last four road games, all of which went under the total. Florida is 10-9 following a defeat, while the Knights are 12-4-3 after a win, but just 3-2 in their last five games following a win.
