NFL Week 9 Betting Trends
- Updated: October 31, 2013
Teams who haven’t had a bye week now have played half of their regular season. The Kansas City Chiefs are 8-0 at the halfway point of the season. Jacksonville and Tampa Bay are the two remaining winless teams in the league. Does anyone want to win the NFC East? Dallas had a great chance to grab hold of the lead in that division, but we all know what happened in Detroit this past weekend. Not too many marquee matchups on this week’s slate, but there are still plenty of chances to make money.
BangtheBook has offered a trends to consider article during the baseball season, and now we’ll be having an NFL trends to consider article during the football season as well. This will give bettors a good look at some of the most important trends to consider before placing a bet this week. Let’s look at trends to consider for games this coming weekend.
-The unbeaten Chiefs are only three-point favorites at Buffalo this weekend. Kansas City is 4-11 ATS in their last 15 games against a team with a losing record. The Bills are 6-0 ATS in their last 6 games following a loss. Kansas City is 0-6 ATS in the last 6 meetings between these teams. Can the Chiefs stay unbeaten another week?
-New Orleans is off to a 6-1 start. The New York Jets are 4-4. The Jets have beaten teams they were never expected to beat this year, but they’ve also laid several eggs. Which team will show up here? The Saints are 20-7 ATS in their last 27 games on turf. The Jets are 4-0 ATS in their last 4 after scoring 15 points or less in their previous game.
-Totals bettors should keep an eye on the Eagles vs. Raiders game this weekend. The under is a perfect 8-0 in the Raiders last 8 home games. The over is 5-0 in the Eagles last 5 road games. Which perfect trend will give way this weekend?
-The disappointing Atlanta Falcons will face the upstart Carolina Panthers this weekend. Carolina is now above .500 at 4-3. The over is 6-1-2 in the last 9 meetings between these teams. Atlanta is just 2-8 ATS in their last 10 games overall. Carolina is 6-1 ATS in their last 7 against a team with a losing record.
-Baltimore is just 3-4 and the Browns are 3-5. The Ravens will be in Cleveland this weekend. Baltimore needs a win here to stay in the playoff race. The under is a perfect 6-0 in the last 6 meetings between these two teams. The Ravens are 5-0 ATS in their last 5 games in Cleveland.
-The Pittsburgh Steelers are just 3-8 ATS in their last 11 games overall. Pittsburgh is in danger of falling completely out of the playoff chase because of their horrible start. New England is 5-2 ATS in their last 7 home games. Pittsburgh is just 3-9 ATS in their last 12 meetings against the Patriots.
-Chicago will be in Green Bay on Monday night. The Bears will be without Jay Cutler in this one, so the Packers are a 10.5 point favorite. Green Bay is 18-7-1 ATS in their last 26 games against the Bears. The favorite is 5-0 ATS in their last 5 meetings. The under is 10-1 in the last 11 meetings between these two rivals.
