NFL Week 2 Opening Line Report
- Updated: September 14, 2011
The Monday Night double header ended a great week of football. Quarterbacks put up record numbers and upsets were the top story in week one. Now looking ahead to week two, there are plenty of great matchups that will be worth watching.
Here is the NFL line report for week two.
Chicago Bears vs. New Orleans Saints
The Saints take the field looking for their first win of the season as they host the Chicago Bears. The Bears looked impressive in week one as they tore apart the Falcons, but the oddsmakers are still giving the Saints all the respect. The Saints opened up as 6.5 point chalk in this game and already have been bet up to seven points. The popularity of the Saints still overrides the trust sports bettors have in Bears QB Jay Cutler.
Green Bay Packers vs. Carolina Panthers
The defending champions looked great in week one as they held on to beat the Saints. They now travel to Carolina to take on the young Panthers, but after a surprising first game by Cam Newton, the Panthers may compete. It might be because of Newton’s play that the line opened at 10.5 and is now at 10 even.
Baltimore Ravens vs. Tennessee Titans
The Baltimore Ravens opened up as six point road favorites against the Tennessee Titans. Although the Ravens dominated the Steelers in week one, the line was steamed down to 5.5 by sharp gamblers who see some value in this line. The Titans took a few quarters to get into gear and it wasn’t enough to beat the Jacksonville Jaguars.
Philadelphia Eagles vs. Atlanta Falcons
The Philadelphia Eagles dream team, started the season off with an easy win over the lowly Rams. They now travel to Atlanta where Michael Vick, got his start. The Atlanta Falcons were dominated in Soldier Field where they failed to put up a fight against the Bears. The Eagles opened up at 2.5, and was quickly bet up to three points. The Eagles could be one of the most popular teams for the public to bet on this year.
