NFL Week 14 Betting Trends
- Updated: December 6, 2013
Hopefully everyone enjoyed their turkey and football last week. On Thanksgiving Day, we learned once again that Green Bay simply cannot win without Aaron Rodgers. The biggest story line out of the Thanksgiving Day games was Mike Tomlin venturing onto the field to disrupt Jacoby Jones. Denver picked up a huge win at Kansas City this past weekend. Seattle finished off the weekend by showing just how tough it is going to be for any opponent to win a game in Seattle this year.
BangtheBook has offered a trends to consider article during the baseball season, and now we’ll be having an NFL trends to consider article during the football season as well. This will give bettors a good look at some of the most important trends to consider before placing a bet this week. Let’s look at trends to consider for games this coming weekend.
-Pittsburgh would love to get the Mike Tomlin news out of the headlines. The Steelers will have to win out in order to have any chance to get into the playoffs. Miami is 6-6 and ahead of the Steelers in the standings. The Dolphins are 4-1 ATS in their last 5 games, and they have rebounded nicely after all the negative news surrounding the bullying investigation. The Steelers are 4-0 ATS in their last 4 games.
-Cleveland just can’t seem to find a quarterback. Brandon Weeden was awful in last week’s loss at home to Jacksonville. Cleveland is 2-5 ATS in their last 7 games overall. They are in New England this weekend. New England is 5-0 ATS in their last 5 home games.
-Detroit will be in Philadelphia for a big matchup with the Eagles. The Eagles are playing well of late, but they are 5-20-1 ATS in their last 26 home games. Detroit is 1-4 ATS in their last 5 December games. It’s a big game for both teams, and the Eagles are a small 2.5 point favorite.
-Tennessee is 5-1 ATS in their last 6 road games. The Titans are 6-1 ATS in their last 7 games following a loss. Denver is 5-0 ATS in their last 5 December games. The Broncos are 6-1 ATS in their last 7 games against a team with a losing record. The Titans are 0-4 ATS in their last 4 road games.
-St. Louis has been playing quite a bit better of late, but they were humbled last week against San Francisco. The Rams are 4-1 ATS in their last 5 games against a team with a winning record. Arizona is having a nice season so far this year. The Cardinals are 6-1 ATS in their last 7 against a team with a losing record. The over is 6-0 in Arizona’s last 6 against the NFC West. The underdog if 4-0 ATS in their last 4 meetings.
-The best game of the week is the Seattle Seahawks traveling to San Francisco to take on the 49ers. You better believe that San Francisco remembers their 29-3 shellacking at the hands of the Seahawks in Seattle earlier this year. Seattle is 8-2 ATS in their last 10 road games. The 49ers are 19-8-1 ATS in their last 28 home games.
-Carolina and New Orleans on Sunday night is another marquee matchup. Carolina is 6-0 ATS in their last 6 games against the NFC. The Saints are 21-6 ATS in their last 27 home games. It’s a short week here for the Saints, but they’ll be anxious to bounce back big. The Panthers are actually an impressive 11-1 ATS in their last 12 games at New Orleans.
