NFL Upset of the Week – NFL Week 8
- Updated: October 28, 2011
The biggest upset in the NFL is always hard to find. On any given Sunday is a term that is frequently used because quite often even bad teams win and upset very good teams. Researching the NFL lines and looking over the latest moves and smart money plays is one way to find the biggest upset in any given week.
In week eight of the NFL, the Washington Redskins appear to be a good choice to be upsets in the NFL. The Washington Redskins started off on a very good note and were winning games. Since then they have fallen on hard times and even benched Rex Grossman and now have injury at running backs.
Now they face the Buffalo Bills in Buffalo, and like Washington, the Buffalo Bills have been a big surprise this season. Ryan Fitzpatrick leads this group at quarterback and along with a decent defense; they have proven that they can play with any team in the league.
The Redskins had a bye week and that is when Mike Shanahan does his best work at head coach. Although Tim Hightower is injured, the redskins are very deep at running back and rookie Roy Helu, could make a big splash this week. John Beck used that bye week to gain the confidence of his receiving corps and will be ready to execute the offense this week against Buffalo.
The Redskins are 8-3-1 ATS in their last 12 games as a road underdog, 4-1-1 ATS in their last 6 road games against a team with a winning home record, and 6-1 ATS in their last 7 games as a road underdog of 3.5-10.0. The sports trends continue to play in the favor of the road team when looking at Bills trends for this game.
The Bills are 2-5 ATS in their last 7 games as a favorite of 3.5-10.0 and they will be upset this week as the Redskins stun the Bills.
