NFL Totals Play of the Week – Week 10

Last Updated: 2017-11-09

We definitely fell victim to some bad luck last week with Watson’s injury. Even though I updated the article and said to pass on the game, still have to count the game as a loss, but that’s how things go sometimes, as we fall to 6-3 on the season. As I’ve said many times in the past, the record I have on these pages isn’t nearly as important as the record anybody following has.

This week, we’ll stick with the Indianapolis Colts and look at their home game against the Steelers, where Pittsburgh is favored by 10 and the total has inched up to 45.

The Steelers have never really gotten their offense on track this season, coming into this game averaging just 20.9 points per game and looking for their first 30-point game of the season. As a result, the Steelers have been the best under team in the league, going 1-7 so far, as their defense has been solid, and their last three opponents have scored 15 or fewer points. The Steelers are 0-5 in totals on the road, where they have averaged slightly fewer points and also allowed fewer points than they have a home.

The Colts haven’t been that impressive defensively, even if they did hold the Texans to 14 points, considering who was leading the Texans. Prior to that game, the Colts had allowed 23 or more points in six straight games and 28 or more points in three of those six games.

Both teams have struggled at times running the football, so there should be a fair amount of passing in this one, particularly if the Steelers can get out to a bit of a lead. Both teams are average when it comes to stopping the run, with the Colts being a little bit better, which may be enough to force Pittsburgh to throw even if they are playing in front.

The Colts have been a decent over team this year, going 6-3 overall and 2-2 at home and think this one will get over the number. There is a little bit of buyback occurring on the 45, with the under -111 at a couple of different shops, while a few others have the game over 44.5 -118.

It might not be easy, but think the Colts can get a few scores and believe that the Steelers will get their share of points in this one, as well.
