Miami Dolphins at Atlanta Falcons
The Atlanta Falcons are looking to rebound from a difficult campaign a year ago. They are featured on HBO’s Hard Knocks and will take on the Dolphins in their preseason opener. Don’t expect winning to be on high on the priority list for Falcons head coach Mike Smith. Smith has an overall record of 7-17 in preseason games which includes a 1-11 straight up record in his last 12 games.
Tampa Bay Buccaneers at Jacksonville Jaguars
Lovie Smith is the new head coach for the Buccaneers and he is hoping to turnaround the franchise in his first year at the helm. Smith has announced that his starters could be on the field for about one quarter, which is considered a good amount of time for the first week of the preseason.
Lovie Smith says generally speaking, he’ll play his starters “about a quarter” in a preseason opener like Friday’s game at Jacksonville.
