The New Orleans Saints will host the Tampa Bay Buccaneers in the Divisional Round of the NFC playoffs on Sunday (6:40 PM ET). This will be the third meeting between these two teams, with New Orleans having won both of these meetings by double-digit margins.

It has been mentioned that the Bucs are going to try and establish a run this time, unlike the second meeting, when they fell way behind early and only had five rushing plays.
But the evidence we’ve seen is that they have gotten further away from that, regardless of the opponent (in almost all cases, that is).
Ronald Jones, who over the earlier part of the schedule looked as if he was going to have a Pro Bowl season, did carve up Carolina for 192 yards in the latter part of the season, but other than that did not get the call a whole lot.
Jones has gotten 82 carries in the last seven games. The Bucs have thrown the ball 63% of the time this season, which ranks them third in the NFL in that category. They are paying upwards of $30 million to have Brady on board. Do you think they are going to rely on anyone other then the six-time Super Bowl champion? And we say that especially in consideration of the fact that he has about as balanced a set of receivers as any quarterback in the league.
And who could ever guarantee that Tampa Bay could do anything on the ground anyway? As good as the Bucs’ defensive line has been against the run (3.6 ypc allowed), New Orleans has been almost as good, yielding just 91.2 yards per game.
No, I see this as something that is very much on Brady’s shoulders. He averaged just 5.5 yards per attempt last time against the Saints, and who knows – that might be the same this time around – but he’s going to throw it. A lot. I am convinced of that. So unless the Bucs are very dominant in the trenches, which I doubt they’re going to be,this should sail OVER the posted figure.
