NFL Lock of the Week – Week 12
- Updated: November 23, 2011
Each week in the NFL one of the hardest things to do for NFL sports betting fans is to find the lock of the week. The lock of the week is the best game on the board that has the best chance of winning and winning easily. This game should stand out above the rest and be a quick victory. This week that lock play is in the AFC West in the game between the San Diego Chargers and the Denver Broncos.
Tim Tebow and the Broncos are winning football games, it may be ugly, but they are winning and maybe more importantly, they are covering. They are controlling the ball and scoring just enough to get the victory. Maybe more surprising the Broncos defense is playing some good football.
The Chargers are losing badly and are in a tail spin. In the past they have had a strong end to the season, but this time they may not be able to pull out some magic.
The sports betting trends favor the Broncos in this game. The Broncos are 4-0 ATS in their last 4 against the AFC , -1 ATS in their last 6 games after accumulating less than 150 yards passing in their previous game, 4-1 ATS in their last 5 road games, and 4-1 ATS in their last 5 games overall.
The Chargers are 2-6 ATS in their last 8 games after allowing more than 350 total yards in their previous game, 2-6-1 ATS in their last 9 games as a favorite, 0-6-1 ATS in their last 7 games following a straight up loss, and 0-5 ATS in their last 5 games overall.
The Chargers have lost five straight and now are supposed to win and cover the number? It is not going to happen and the Broncos plus the points are the lock of the week.
