NFL Consensus Report Week One Picks to Wager On
- Updated: September 8, 2012
The NFL football season has finally arrived.
There is no sport which attracts more betting action than the NFL. With that in mind, using the NFL consensus report to bet on football games and find winners in the 2012 season is vital. This is one tool you do not want to overlook when trying to pick winner in the NFL.
In week one there are several teams that are getting plenty of betting action.
The New England Patriots and Tom Brady are getting 74% of the betting action headed into the game with the Tennessee Titans. The Patriots are getting the most wagers as of the writing of this article, but the Detroit Lions (73%) and the Houston Texans (74%) are other fan favorites leading up to kickoff.
One angle to look for when using the NFL consensus is looking for home dogs with small lines.
Small lines or odds on the game will indicate that all a team has to do is win. So the game that stands out this week is the game between the Carolina Panthers and the Tampa Bay Buccaneers.
The Panthers are only one point favorites in this game against Tampa Bay and they are getting 70 percent of the betting action. This is important because the sports bettors who are backing the Panthers are betting heavily because all the Panthers have to do is win to cover the spread.
However it is Cam newton that is driving this hype and this public attention, not the x’s and o’s of this game.
The Buccaneers are a very good team and they have vastly improved on both ides of the ball. That improvement will be evident in game one when they come out and shock the Panthers and get the outright victory.
This is a big reason to fade the public in week one and bet on the Buccaneers.
