The American League Championship series continues with the Game 4 on schedule, as the Houston Astros look to rebound after losing game 3 on Monday night with 8-1. The New York Yankees will try to feed off the dominant performance in game 3 and even the series on Tuesday night.
While the Astros have the single game lead, this does not mean that they have dominated this series in any way, winning both games by identical 2-1 scores. In Game 4 the Houston Astros will send Lance McCullers Jr. (7-4, 4.25) to the hill. On the other side, the New York Yankees, who have most likely regained back their confidence after a dominant win in game 3, will send Sonny Gray (10-12, 3.55) to the nod.
Game 4 will be at Yankee Stadium in New York City. First pitch is scheduled for 5 PM.

The Houston Astros pitching staff was pretty outstanding through the first two games, which lifted the Astros to a comfortable 2-0 lead. However, in game 3 of the series, played at the Yankees Stadium, displayed a different picture, which is way McCullers Jr. was announced as the starting pitcher minutes after the game finished. This will be McCullers Jr. second start in the postseason after the young right-hander started in game 3 against the Boston Red-Sox, in which he allowed two runs in 3 innings. Over the course of the season, McCullers Jr. has collected a record of 7-4 along with 4.25 ERA and 1.3 WHIP in 22 starts. Against the Yankees, McCullers has been pretty sharp, holding them to only 3 runs in 11.1 innings.
The offense is led by second baseman Jose Altuve who is proving to be one of the top players in all of Major League baseball. The Astros second baseman is hitting .565 and homered three times in the first game of the ALDS verse the Red Sox. His double-play partner, Carlos Correa, is also having a fine postseason, hitting .286 with three homers and a team-leading nine RBI. His RBI double in the bottom of the ninth of Game 2 gave Houston the two-game series lead.
NEW YORK YANKEES
No one could really blame the Yankees pitching staff for the fact that the team was down two games in the series. Both Luis Severino and Mashiro Tanaka looked excellent in their outings, but they simply got outdueled by the Houston pitching staff. However, on Monday night CC Sabathia came up huge, holding the Astros to only three hits and four walks. In addition, Sabathia managed to strike out five Astros over 6 innings.
On Tuesday, the Yankees will send Sonny Gray to the hill, which will be his 2nd start in the Playoffs. Gray is having a solid season, recording 10-12 with 3.55 ERA and 1.21 WHIP. In his first start against the Astros, he allowed 5 runs, although, at that time he was still with the Athletics. Aaron Judge was spectacular on Monday night with a three home run run and an RBI. Judge is hitting .147 along with 2 HR and 7 RBIs in the playoffs.
Houston Astros at New York Yankees betting Trends and Prediction
The Houston Astros are 1-7 when McCullers is starting at the hill, while also recording 2-8 in their last 8 road games in the league Championship. On the other side, the New York Yankees are 4-0 in their last 4 playoffs home games, while also recording a solid 20-7 record in their last 27 home games.
I believe that the New York Yankees can come up huge again on Tuesday night and even the series with 2-2, mostly because the Astros starting pitcher has struggled in his second half starts, while Gray has been very solid against the Astros.
My Pick: New York Yankees -1.5 (+183)
