The 2022 MLB season goes on Monday, May 16, with the AL East showdown from Oriole Park at Camden Yards in Baltimore, so we bring you the best Yankees vs. Orioles betting pick along with the latest odds update on Bookmaker Sportsbook.

After a couple of three-game sets, the Yankees and Orioles start a four-game series at Oriole Park at Camden Yards. New York has won four of its first six encounters with Baltimore in 2022, and the Yanks are favorites to beat the O’s this Monday night.

The Yankees shoot for their fourth straight victory over the Orioles

Sunday’s games have been excluded from the analysis, and the 24-9 New York Yankees were looking to clinch a four-game series against the Chicago White Sox. Back on Saturday, the Yanks put an end to their five-game losing streak, suffering a 3-2 defeat at Guaranteed Rate Field in Chicago.

New York has scored a whopping 25 runs through its first two encounters with the Chi Sox, but the Yankees struggled to hit Saturday. Jordan Montgomery yielded two earned runs across 4.1 frames of work, while Aroldis Chapman took a loss, as he yielded the decisive run in the bottom of the ninth.

Luis Severino will get the nod Monday and take on the Orioles for the second time in 2022. The 28-year-old righty took a win in a 12-8 victory over Baltimore on April 26, yielding four earned runs through six innings. Severino is 2-0 with a 4.08 ERA, 3.82 FIP, 1.33 WHIP, and 31/9 K/BB ratio in six starts (28.2 innings) this season.

The Orioles open a seven-game homestand

The 14-20 Baltimore Orioles were trying to avoid a sweep in a three-game set in Detroit on Sunday afternoon. After a surprising victory in a three-game series at Busch Stadium in St. Louis, the O’s have dropped the first two contests at Comerica Park, 4-2 and 3-0.

Baltimore owns the second-lowest scoring offense in the majors, tallying 3.32 runs per game. The Orioles ranks 20th in batting average (.231), 19th in on-base percentage (.305), and 26th in slugging percentage (.347). They are batting only .196 with the runners in scoring position.

Kyle Bradish will take the mound Monday and meet the Yankees for the first time in his career. The 25-year-old rookie is 1-1 with a 4.24 ERA, 1.06 WHIP, and 16/3 K/BB ratio in three starts and 17 innings of work. Bradish earned his first major-league win last Tuesday. He fanned 11 across seven frames of a two-run ball in a 5-3 victory at the St. Louis Cardinals.

Trends:

NY Yankees:

  • 5-1 in the last six games overall
  • 6-0 in Luis Severino’s six starts in 2022

Baltimore:

  • 1-4 in the last five games against the Yankees

New York Yankees vs. Baltimore Orioles Pick

The Yankees own the fifth-highest scoring offense in baseball, tallying 4.91 runs per game. Luis Severino hasn’t impressed so far this season, but he’s got proper run support, so the Yankees are 6-0 in his six starts in 2022.

I’ll ride this betting trend, as the Yanks are arguably a much better team than the Orioles. New York’s bullpen is a big strength of this team as well, so the Orioles will have a mountain to climb on both offense and defense.

Pick: Take New York Yankees at -200

The Total:

Hopefully, the Orioles will get things going at the plate when they meet Luis Severino. As I’ve mentioned above, the O’s and Yanks combined for 20 runs in Severino’s start on April 26. Luis has surrendered three or more runs in each of his previous three outings.

On the other side, Kyle Bradish will have a chance to prove that his 11-K performance against the Cards wasn’t a fluke. Baltimore’s bullpen sports a 3.37 ERA and 3.68 FIP, while the Yankees’ relievers own a 2.52 ERA and 3.01 FIP.

Pick: Go over 8.0 runs at -125
