NCAAB – TRENDS OF THE DAY
With the Week 15 rankings in NCAAB revealed, we continue our daily routine of identifying the best possible directions when it comes to selecting betting picks. Besides aforementioned eight duels, there are a total of 25 matchups on the menu today and you can check out every one of them here. The AP and Coaches Poll rankings experienced some turmoil yesterday with different teams on the top of the pack. The Virginia Cavaliers, despite Saturday’s OT loss now leads the AP Poll while the Michigan St. Spartans top the Coaches Poll. The Villanova Wildcats dropped two spots as a result to last week’s home upset by the Red Storm while Gonzaga Bulldogs jumped up three spots after a win over their biggest conference rival, St. Mary’s Gaels.
Here are a couple of most interesting duels today including one H2H matchup between ranked teams: Louisiana State (14-10) at Alabama (16-9), South Carolina (13-12) at Tennessee (18-6), Northwestern (15-11) at Rutgers (12-15), Michigan St. (24-3) at Minnesota (14-13), Virginia (23-2) at Miami-Florida (18-6), Richmond (9-15) at Rhode Island (20-3), Oklahoma (16-8) at Texas Tech (21-4) and Georgetown (14-10) at Butler (17-9).
- The Hoyas are 7-1 in their last eight road games.
The Georgetown Hoyas are the underdogs in the matchup against the Butler Bulldogs but the ATS line that favors the hosts at 11.0 is a bit too high and the aforementioned trend proves that the Hoyas have been able to take down those kinds of odds as visitors. The Bulldogs on the other side are 2-6 ATS in their last eight games vs. a team with a winning straight up record, making the Hoyas ATS win even more probable.
- The Sooners are 0-6 in their last road games.
The only H2H matchup between top-25 ranked teams will take place at the United Supermarkets Arena in Lubbock as the Red Raiders host the Sooners. Oklahoma team downfalling lately, and the ATS line favoring Texas Tech at 7.5 should present a problem for the home team, so pick the Red Raiders.
- The Wildcats are 10-3 in their last 13 games following a straight up loss.
The Northwestern Wildcats got edged by the Terrapins on the road on Saturday and history suggests that they like to bounce right back when it comes to ATS duels, making them the favorites against the poor Rutgers Scarlet Knights team.
- The Crimson Tide is 6-1 in their last seven home games.
Alabama hosts the Louisiana State and the 7.5 ATS line favoring the home team shouldn’t present a big deal for the Crimson Tide against 0-3-1 ATS in last four road games Tigers.
- Over is 11-1 in Rams last 12 games vs. a team with a winning % below .400.
Today’s biggest high-scoring potential comes in the matchup between Rhode Island Rams and Richmond Spiders. Besides aforementioned Rams’ tendency, the Spiders on the other side are 6-2 O/U in last eight road games and 5-1 O/U in last six overall.
- Over is 7-0 in Hurricanes last seven games vs. a team with a winning % above .600.
For the first time this season, we’ll put the Virginia Cavaliers’ matchup as the one that should go Over in Totals and the reason for that is the fact that they’re coming off from a loss that cost them the top spot on the Coaches rankings which should ignite some kind of a rage-inducing mindset with the players that could result in “scoring in bunches” kind of performance. The second reason is the high-scoring Hurricanes squad that features a number of Over trends.
- Under is 12-5 in Spartans last 17 vs. a team with a winning straight up record.
The first matchup with a potential to go Under comes on the No. 3 spot on our Totals list. The Michigan St. Spartans are squaring off with the Minnesota Golden Gophers who are 2-5 O/U in last seven home games. Go Under.
- Under is 5-0 in Volunteers last five vs. a team with a winning straight up record.
The conclusion of today’s trends comes with another matchup with a strong low-scoring tendency as South Carolina Gamecocks who are 18-41-1 O/U in last 60 road games visit the Tennessee Volunteers who also stand at 2-7 O/U in last nine overall.
