NCAA Football Betting Previews- No. 9 Oklahoma Sooners vs. No. 8 Kansas State Wildcats
VietBET Point spread: Oklahoma -13.5
The Oklahoma Sooners will look to keep their faint national title hopes alive with a victory over the upstart Kansas State Wildcats this Saturday afternoon in this Big 12 showdown at Bill Snyder Stadium. The game is set to get underway at 3:30 p.m. (ET) and it will be broadcast nationally on ESPN.
Oklahoma’s stunning 41-38 loss to Texas Tech as a 29-point home favorite this past Saturday sent shock waves through the BCS rankings as it dropped from third all the way past Kansas State to ninth. The loss also dropped the Sooners to 6-1 straight-up on the year and 4-3 against the spread. They are 3-0 SU (2-1 ATS) in three games on the road and the total has gone ‘over’ in four of their seven games overall.
Quarterback Landry Jones and wide receiver Ryan Broyles lead a Sooner offense that is ranked fourth in the nation in passing with an average of 379 yards a game and seventh in scoring with an average of 44.3 points a game. It was their defense that did them in against the Red Raiders; giving-up a whopping 572 yards of total offense.
Kansas State’s rise to eighth in the current BCS rankings was aided by a 59-21 romp over in-state rival Kansas this past Saturday as a 10.5-point road favorite. The Wildcats are a perfect 7-0 SU (6-1 ATS) overall and 4-0 SU (3-1 ATS) at home this season. The total has gone ‘over’ in four of their seven games as well.
This team has racked-up an average of 33.6 points a game this season primarily on the ground with an average of 213.9 yards a game rushing. Collin Klein and John Hubert have combined for 1,307 yards on 173 carries and Klein leads the Wildcats in scoring with 14 rushing touchdowns.
Oklahoma is 5-1 ATS in its last six games following an ATS loss and 19-7 ATS in its last 26 games following a SU loss. The total has gone ‘over’ in five of its last seven conference games.
Kansas State is 4-0 ATS in its last four games as an underdog and the total has gone ‘over’ in nine of its last 13 games as an underdog at home.
Head-to-head in this series, The Sooners are 7-1 SU in the last eight meetings, but the Wildcats are 4-2 ATS in the last six. The total has gone ‘over’ in the last three meetings. There is little doubt that Oklahoma will come into this game fired-up to take last week’s loss out on somebody, but Kansas State will be no pushover and is more than capable of keeping things close enough to cover at home with the 13.5-point spread.
