Every week here at Bang the Book.com we will cover the NBA from coast to coast by posting some betting angles that can help the basketball handicapper learn some rules and techniques that can put extra money in their pocket when betting on basketball. This article is designed to provide the handicapper with tips for betting on basketball that they can use for the entire season.
Here is a look at some of the betting angles that are in action for the next few days (November 7-10th.
It may be early in the season, but revenge is a handicapping angle that should be considered when betting on the NBA. There may be 82 games on the season, but when a team loses a tough game or is playing against an opponent they don’t like, especially if they lost the last time out, revenge will rear its ugly head.
This Friday the New York Knicks will have revenge in a quick turnaround game. The Knicks lost this week to the Charlotte Bobcats. Up until this point the Bobcats had been an easy win for most teams as the Bobcats posted a woeful road record. That all changedwhen they defeated the Knicks at Madison Square Garden. The Bobcats and Knicks may not be rivals, but the Knicks will want to make amends for that ugly loss.
The Rockets are another team that may have revenge on their mind. The Rockets will host the Lakers on Thursday night. Dwight Howard was a member of the Lakers team a year ago, in what can only be described as a disaster season. Now with the Rockets, Howard is much more comfortable and will look to prove to his old team that he is a superstar in this league. The Rockets will get the Lakers team without Kobe Bryant and this is a team that has lost both road games up to this point by a combined 50 points. Blowout anyone?
The Rockets will not be done there. They have another game on Friday night against the other team from Los Angeles, the Clippers. The Rockets will be hard pressed to get up for another big game in back to back nights, but they will most certainly remember the first meeting between these two teams.
The Rockets traveled to LA to play the Clippers on November 4th and they were demolished as the Clippers put 137 points on the board against this Rockets defense. These are the most points that the Rockets have surrendered all season. In fact they allowed 78 in the first half! That embarrassment will not be forgotten and the Rockets will be out for revenge.
