NBA – TRENDS OF THE DAY
We are already deep in February so joggling for a position is in the full swing. We are also at our top with the NBA Betting Trends of the Day, exploiting the current power balance to advise punters where to look for hot stuff and how to avoid unnecessary pitfalls. Yesterday, our list was good on 7 out of the nine suggestions, with the only two misses the lowest placed ATS and O/U trends, and those two were close as well. While we can’t guarantee such rate every day, it’s a prime example of why we believe current form is a good indicator of how the teams will perform next. If you would like to know all the trends, visit our NBA Top Trends page.
Six games are on the plate for Tuesday, one more interesting than another. Miami is in Toronto, Atlanta will challenge Milwaukee, Houston has the big contest with, the unbeatable-at-home, Minnesota, Cleveland will take on the Thunder in Oklahoma City, Sacramento is at Dallas and San Antonio plays in Denver after a narrow loss in Utah last night.
- The Spurs are 2-6 ATS in their last 8 games playing on 0 days rest.
The Spurs are notorious for resting stars in the back-to-back games, and Aldridge wouldn’t dress on either of the last night’s or tonight’s games. The Spurs managed to cover against the red-hot Jazz, but have to feel bad for slipping a straight-up win in the waning moments of the game. They are 5-1 ATS on the road, but having to play in two very tough places right after another will take its toll. The Nuggets are 5-1 ATS in their last six games and had to look up to Spurs for so long that we believe they’ll be amped up for this game after two days without basketball.
- The Timberwolves are 10-1 ATS in their last 11 home games.
They don’t mind playing good teams either, covering in all five last encounters when teams with winning records came to visit. The Rockets play really well against good teams but haven’t been too hot lately with the market really high on them. The Rockets are 1-4 ATS in the last 5 meetings against the Wolves.
- The Cavaliers are 3-13 ATS in their last 16 road games.
They are coming to life, but it’s going to be a bumpy ride. The Thunder are normally cold as well but tend to take a different approach when playing in high profile matchups like this one. The home side is just 2-5 ATS in the last seven overall, but 5-2 ATS against the East. Home team is 6-2 ATS in the last 8 meetings between the two.
- Over is 6-1 in the Nuggets last 7 overall.
The lines have gone down with their new approach to defense, and the Nuggets are certainly capable of putting up points. The Spurs have played four straight overs on the road themselves, so it’s a perfect time to go for the plus points.
- Under is 15-3 in the Bucks last 18 overall.
The Bucks failed to reach the expected line in four straight at home and 7 straight following a win. They are also 7-1 against the East. The Hawks aren’t overly supportive of their own trends, but being such a poor team, they tend to be dictated the flow of the game. If the previous games are to be trusted, the Bucks will keep it low.
- Under is 5-0 in the last 5 meetings between Toronto and Miami.
If you recall any of the previous meetings between these two rivals, then you can confirm that it’s more than just a historical quirk. The Raptors and the Heat simply match up very well defensively. Also, both teams are fairly good defensively. It resulted in four of the Heat last five road games staying below the line, and the same ratio when Toronto play at home. Under is 5-1 in the Raptors last 6 following a win, and 13-3 in the Heat last 16 against Atlantic Division rivals.
- Over is 12-2 in the last 14 meetings between the Minnesota and Houston
Timberwolves are building a nice over trend lately, topping the lines in four straight overall, and five straight against the Western Conference. Over is 5-2 at their last 7 games at home, and 5-1 when the Rockets are coming to town. However, the Rockets haven’t been so keen to play with that many points lately. Under is 11-4 in Rockets last 15 overall, and 10-3-1 in their last 14 road games. They’ve only played one over in the last 10 games in the West, keeping the Minny over trend on the brink of making the list.
