nba betting trends february 9NBA – TRENDS OF THE DAY

The NBA trade deadline is now past us. We got a flurry of movement with the Cavaliers, and not much else on deadline day. That’s good news for the bettors, especially if you take current trends into consideration like we do. We are ready with our selection of the NBA Betting Trends of the Day, handpicked from our NBA Top Trends page.

Nine games are set to be played tonight, so there’s plenty to go over. Blake Griffin and the Detroit Pistons host his former team, the LA Clippers to open up the day with a bang. New Orleans will look to get a win in any way they can in Philadelphia, who are also in dire need of boosting their record. Cleveland plays in Atlanta, but it’s unknown whether they’ll have the new four players available. Indiana at Boston and Milwaukee at Miami feels like the playoffs have already started. Denver takes on Houston in South Texas, while Charlotte travels to Utah to play the Jazz. The schedule eases towards the end of the day, having Minnesota at Chicago and Portland at Sacramento to lower your heartbeat.

  • The 76ers are 5-0 ATS in their last 5 home games.

Smaller trends should not be ignored, especially when as clean as this one, but if you want more substance to it, there’s more. The 76ers are 20-6 ATS in their last 26 home games vs. a team with a winning road record. The Pelicans barely qualify, partly thanks to going 1-4 ATS in their last 5 games overall – this period coincides with Cousins injury.

  • The Clippers are 6-1-1 ATS in their last 8 road games.

On the other side, the Pistons are 2-8 ATS in their last 10 home games. Yes, Griffin will be amped up to play his best game, but it doesn’t change the current trends, both speaking in favor of the visiting side. The Clippers have decided to trust this roster and are keeping the playoff battle alive, so we like their chances here.

  • The Celtics are 7-1 ATS in their last 8 games overall.

The Celtics are back near the top of our list after a new flurry of beating the spread. The Pacers have covered just once in their past five games of the road, and are 2-5 ATS overall. The home side has their number too. Boston is 9-4 ATS in the last 13 meetings in TD Garden, and 4-1 ATS against the Pacers overall.

  • The Jazz are 6-1 ATS in their last 7 games overall.

The Utah Jazz are sporting NBA best 7-game win streak and are trending just at the right time. The trade could send a calming wave their way, but since the Hornets are 1-4-1 in their last 6 road games, and 0-6 ATS against the West, it’s still a good deal.

  • The Bulls are 0-6 ATS in their last 6 games overall.

The Golden Goose laid six eggs lately, and none of them had the right coating. If there’s any place the Minnesota Timberwolves can win on the road, it’s in Chicago. The Wolves are 2-8 ATS in their last ten games away from home, but the Bulls are even colder. A major part of it is not having Dunn available ever since his concussion, and they traded away their mojo in Mirotic. Thibodeau will want this win, no questions asked.

  • Under is 8-0 in Rockets last 8 vs. Western Conference.

We could have listed an of the ongoing Rockets’ under trend really. 8-1 on the minus side when playing after a day of rest, 10-3 in their last 13 overall, or 4-1 lately at home. The Nuggets have stayed below the line just once in their past 5 games, but have played under on 8 of the previous 10 occasions against their own conference.

  • Under is 5-1 in the Trail Blazers last 6 road games.

Also, under is 5-2 in their last 7 overall, 7-1 on the road against bad (sub .400) teams. Sacramento hasn’t played in four days, and are 5-1 on the under side when having such a long rest. They’ve played a fair share of over games in Sacramento recently, but traditionally keep it low with the Blazers.

  • Over is 4-1 in the Hornets last 5 overall.

The Jazz can match this with a 4-1 streak of their own, but that’s where the support ends. The Jazz reached the expected total points line only once in their previous six contests with the Eastern Conference teams, and two sides went 3-7 against the O/U in their previous 10 meetings. Under is 6-2 in Hornets last 8 games playing on 0 days rest. Still, the average number of points on Charlotte’s last five games is 230.8, and while the Jazz played the regular drill game in Memphis, they have actually been pouring points over the opposition. Whether you go for it or not, the over trend is obvious.

  • Under is 5-1 in Bulls last 6 overall.

The offense is nowhere near the early January level, and the market still hasn’t caught on. Under is 4-1 in Bulls last 5 vs. a team with a winning straight up record, and 8-3 in Timberwolves last 11 road games vs. a team with a losing home record. It’s also the most likely outcome look back in history – only three of the previous 16 times these two teams met in Chicago, the line has been eclipsed.
