We’re back after a couple of days off, as those who have followed me over the years know that I tend to take a day or so off after the completion of every sport. It’s just about the only break you get anymore and when you’re doing this 350 days a year, the grind can get to you without an occasional day away.
Brooklyn at Detroit: The Pistons are favored by 9.5 and the total is 209, while I made this one 106-103 for the Pistons. The total opened at 208 and went up slightly as almost 60 percent of the bets are coming in on the over.
Houston at Miami: The Rockets are favored by 5 and the total in this one is 211, while I made it 108-98 in favor of the Rockets. Houston is on a 2-7-1 run on the road and have gone 2-9-1 in their last 12 games. Houston is 15-21-2 after a win, while the Heat have posted an 11-12-1 after a defeat. The total is low for the Rockets, who have gone 2-5 when the total is less than 212, so will go ahead and pencil the under in for this one as today’s play.
Indiana at New Orleans: The Pelicans are favored by 3.5 and the total is 221, while I made New Orleans 113-112 winners. The Pacers are 4-10-1 in their last 15 road games, while the Pelicans are 13-2 in their last 15 games as a home favorite.
Minnesota at Cleveland: The Timberwolves have shot up to 3.5-point favorites in this one, while the total has also jumped up a fair amount to 224.5. I made Cleveland 113-111 winners, while Cleveland is 0-5 in their last five games as an underdog and Minnesota is 0-4 in their last four as a road favorite.
Utah at Memphis: The Jazz are favored by 7 and the total is 201.5, while I made this one 95-92 in favor of the road team. The Jazz have gone 4-0 in their last four games. Utah is 11-13 following a victory, while the Grizzlies are 13-20-1 after a loss.
San Antonio at Phoenix: The Spurs are favored by 9.5 and the total is 203, while I have San Antonio coming away with a 108-99 victory. The Spurs are just 3-12 in their last 15 games as a road favorite and are 10-10 following a defeat. The Suns have posted a 14-22 record after a loss.
