The NBA world is buzzing with plenty of big events on the horizon. The All Star break is coming and that will give the NBA players and the NBA handicappers a break from the grind of the regular season. We also witnessed a trade deadline that had plenty of action especially for LeBron James and the Cleveland Cavaliers.  All of the moves for all of the teams in the NBA are important to track if you want to bet on basketball this weekend.

The NBA games for the weekend of February 9th to February 11thprovide plenty of excellent betting opportunities if you know what to look for. The betting sheet in the NBA this weekend will provide everything that you need to know. This includes the recent moves for the teams in the league as well as the betting trends and stats that stand out during this busy basketball betting weekend.

Trade Tracking

The trade deadline has plenty of things to consider before betting on basketball this weekend. The teams that were involved in trades before the deadlines will be moving parts and introducing new players and that could cause some problems when trying to pick winners. You never know who will play, how long they will play and how long it may take a team or players to find chemistry on the court. Don’t read “winners and losers” articles because they are just a guess at what may happen. Instead do your own research and find the right angles to bet. Be patient, because the teams will evolve over the next week or so. The Cavaliers were the busiest team on the trade deadline day since they dumped a huge chunk of their roster to include Isiah Thomas, Dwyane Wade and Jae Crowder. They did pick up some young talent in Rodney Hood, George Hill and Larry Nance, but they will need some time to gel on the court. If teams had heavy volume during the deadline, it is best to pass or at least think twice before betting on these teams.

Blake Vs the Clippers

All eyes will be on Blake Griffin and the Pistons as they host his former team, the LA Clippers. The Pistons are small favorites in this game and it is no surprise as everyone believes that Blake Griffin will want to stick it to his former squad that promised he would be the face of the franchise for years to come.  The Pistons are 15-6-1 against the spread (ATS) in their last 22 games against the Western Conference and this is a series that has favored the home team. The home team is 5-1-1 ATS in the last seven meetings. The Clippers are 2-5 ATS in their last 7 after scoring 100 points or more in their previous game and they should have some serious trouble stopping Blake as he is eager to show his former team that they made a big mistake.

Calendar Crunch

We have just seven days of basketball left before teams get a week off to enjoy the All Star break. There are still a few scheduling spots to watch if you plan on betting on basketball this weekend. On Sunday the Hawks will host the Detroit Pistons and that will be their third game in four days. Other teams like the Celtics, Hornets, Mavericks and Trail Blazers will also play in a similar three games in four nights spot this weekend. Things get worse for the Atlanta Hawks who will play five games in seven nights before they head into the break. If you plan on betting on basketball this season then you have to know when the calendar will provide a crunch for an NBA team.
