NBA Betting Sheet December 29th-31st

Last Updated: 2017-12-30

The holiday season is a grind for everyone. This is the time of the season when everyone gets involved with family and is busy traveling. This is also the time of year when NBA teams can stumble. With so many games, holidays and injuries this is the time of year when teams can get in trouble.

So as a person that bets on the NBA whether you are a novice handicapper or an experienced bettor you have to tread carefully. This is the time of year when big leads disappear quickly and teams with just a few losses take down championship contenders. If you want to be on the winning side of these wagers you have to do your research.

The NBA Betting sheet covers the weekend of December 29th to December 31st and will give you all of the information that you need to be on the right side of winning wagers in the NBA.  This includes everything from injuries, to trends and anything that you need to know when betting on hoops this holiday weekend.

No Holiday For the Hornets

The Charlotte Hornets may have changed their name, but they have yet to play well on the basketball court on a consistent basis. The Hornets will be away from home for the holidays as they are on a west coast road trip and will play the next four games away from home. This of course includes the New Year holiday. This is not a good sign for a team that is an ugly 3-11-3 against the spread (ATS) on the road. They are also 1-4-1 ATS in the  last six games when they go up against a team from the Western Conference which could make this a nightmare road trip for the Hornets.

Tired Without Teague

The Minnesota Timberwolves are on an up and coming team, but they have to try and still win games without one of their best players. Guard Jeff Teague suffered a grade 1 sprain in the MCL of his left knee in a mid-week game against the Denver Nuggets. He has been a great addition to this team as he is averaging 13.4 points, 7.3 assists, 3.1 rebounds and 1.5 steals per game. Those numbers may not be overwhelming but he is key contributor to a young core full of young stars. In the next outing the Wolves blew a double digit lead and failed to cover at Milwaukee as a small underdog. This team could be in trouble until Teague comes back to the lineup.

Calendar Crunch

The NBA schedule has a built in break but can be pretty difficult around the New Year. We already mentioned the Hornets brutal schedule but they are not alone. The Rockets get back to back games on the East coast after a tough loss against the Celtics. The Bulls start a difficult road with five games in seven nights starting on Sunday. Finally, the Nuggets actually get a break over the holiday as they will just play two games in eight days to kick off the New Year. If you are going to make money betting on the NBA you have to watch the schedule.

Blazing Up

The Blazers are one of the better bets against the spread this season and they are 8-2 ATS in the last ten games overall heading into the weekend. They are also an incredible 19-7-1 ATS in the last 27 road games. This is the start of a three games in four nights schedule, but the Blazers should be on your betting radar this weekend.
