The Miami Heat and Orlando Magic renew their in-state rivalry for the first time this season in a Southeast Division tilt at the Amway Center this Wednesday night. The game is set to get underway at 7 p.m. (ET) and it will be available on NBA League Pass.

Miami will be playing its third game in four nights with Cleveland on the slate for Tuesday. The Heat squeaked-by Toronto 95-89 on Sunday night as a 16-point home favorite to run their record to 18-6 straight-up, but they are just 10-14 against the spread. They are 7-4 SU (4-7 ATS) on the road this season and the total has gone ‘over’ in seven of the 11 games.

The Heat continue to win on a regular basis with eight victories in their last 10 games, but they have had their fair share of close-calls along the way; covering in just three of the eight wins. Miami is ranked second in the league in scoring with 103.2 points a game, but is giving-up an average of 95.5 points as well.

Orlando’s recent three-game winning streak came to an end in a 107-102 overtime loss to the LA Clippers this past Monday night as a one-point home underdog. Overall, it is now 15-10 SU and 13-12 ATS. The Magic are 8-5 SU at home, but 5-8 ATS with the total staying ‘under’ in seven of the 13 games.

Dwight Howard continues to be a force with 20.4 points and a league-high 15.1 rebounds a game, but the Orlando is ranked 22nd in scoring with an average of 92.6 points a game and 13th in rebounds with an average of 42.6.

The Heat are 1-5 ATS in their last six games on the road and 1-7 ATS in their last eight games against the Eastern Conference. The total has gone ‘over’ in six of their last eight road games.

The Magic are 1-4 ATS in their last five home games and 3-7 ATS in their last 10 games in the division. The total has stayed ‘under’ in 14 of their last 21 conference games.

Head-to-head in this series, Miami is 6-14-1 ATS in the last 21 meetings and 2-7-1 ATS in its last 10 trips to Orlando. The total has gone ‘over’ in four of the last five meetings at the Amway Center.

This series has been tight over the past two seasons with the Magic winning four of six SU dating back to February of 2010. Stick with Orlando to draw first blood in this season’s series with a tight win at home.
