NBA Betting Guide – March 13

Bet at 5dimesNBA Betting Guide-March 13

With each of the teams having around 40 games of the abbreviated 66-game NBA regular season in the books, the playoff picture is starting to take shape. Chicago and Miami are clearly the front-runners in the Eastern Conference and Oklahoma City continues to be the best in the West. The other division races remain far too close to call with the largest lead sitting at just three games.

This NBA betting guide still takes into consideration how a particular team is doing in the standings, however its primary objective is to single-out the ones that have been performing the best where it counts the most; against the spread.

The team at the top of this week’s list not only has the best straight-up record in the NBA, it also has the best record ATS. Through Tuesday night’s games, the Chicago Bulls are now 35-9 SU on the year and a very profitable 26-18 ATS. They show no signs of letting-up with a 10-1 SU (7-4 ATS) record in their last 11 games and an overall record at home of 17-3 SU (10-10 ATS). The total has gone 24-19-1 overall; 9-10-1 at home and 15-9 on the road. It has gone ‘over’ in six of the Bulls last seven games.

The Toronto Raptors have faded out of the postseason picture with an overall SU record of 13-28 and they have a 4-6 SU record in their last 10 games, but remain one of the most attractive teams in the NBA to wager on. Toronto is 24-16-1 ATS overall and equally as profitable at home (12-8-1 ATS) as it is on the road (12-8 ATS). The Raptors are 7-2 ATS in their last nine games and the total has gone ‘over’ in four of their last six. Overall, the total has gone 18-21-2 on the year.

Their lead in the Southwest Division over Memphis is down to just three games as a result of a 6-4 SU record in their last 10 games, but the San Antonio Spurs still have the third-best record in the league ATS at 23-16-1. The Spurs have been especially profitable at home with a 13-7 record ATS. When it comes to the total line, the play in on the ‘under’ at home with 13 of 20 games staying ‘under’ the total and on the ‘over’ on the road, with 14 of 20 games going ‘over’ the total.

The fourth-best team in the league ATS is the Denver Nuggets at 24-18. They are 23-19 SU on the year and currently sixth in the West. The Nuggets have been true road warriors this year with a SU record of 11-9 to go along with an impressive 15-5 record ATS. The total has stayed ‘under’ in 14 of Denver’s 22 games at home, but has gone ‘over’ in 13 of 20 games on the road.

A few of the next best teams ATS this season include the Oklahoma City Thunder at 32-9 SU and 23-18 ATS, the surprising Philadelphia 76ers at 25-17 SU and 23-18-1 ATS, the Orlando Magic at 27-15 SU and 23-19 ATS, and the Minnesota Timberwolves at 22-21 SU and 23-20 ATS.

At the opposite end of the spectrum are a few teams that continue to have success on the court, but remain below .500 ATS. The Boston Celtics trail the 76ers by just 2.5 games in the Atlantic Division at 22-19 SU, but are 19-22 ATS. The Indiana Pacers are in the thick of the playoff race at 23-16 SU, but 18-21 ATS. The Los Angeles Lakers have taken the lead over the Clippers in the Pacific Division by a game and a half with an overall record of 25-16 SU, but are 19-22 ATS.
