Longest Touchdown of the Game Over 45.5 Yards: These two teams are going to take their shots down the field, and they have the explosive players to be able to make this work. Obviously, virtually any special teams touchdown that we could get covers this distance, and QB Carson Palmer isn’t going to be afraid to let it wail, especially early on. These new head coaches love taking risks, especially in front of their hometown crowd in their first game, and Head Coach Eric Allen might not be an exception to that. RB Darren McFadden is simply electric when he touches the pigskin, and he is going to have the ability to rip off a touchdown run that covers half the field as well. Most of the long TDs come in the passing game though, and as we are going to be speaking about in just a moment, QB Philip Rivers is going to have no choice but to put the ball in the air. And, deep threat WR Robert Meachem is a lot more likely to be able to go for 45+ yards than the man that he is replacing as the team’s leading receiver, WR Vincent Jackson.

Philip Rivers Over 265.5. Passing Yards: And here’s the proof that Rivers is going to be winging the ball all over the field. RB Ryan Mathews is out of the lineup, and the combination of running backs just isn’t there to help out this bunch. RB Ronnie Brown hasn’t carried the ball more than eight times in a game in nearly two years, and we just don’t have all that much confidence that anyone else is going to be able to move the ball. That means that it is going to be up to Rivers to keep this ball moving, and once again, the onus of the offense is going to fall squarely on his shoulders. He’ll answer the bell and at least inch up towards that 300+ yard mark on Monday night.

Robert Meachem First Reception Over 10.5 Yards: Call this a gut shot play if you’d like, but we think that Meachem has a real chance to get the call early on a deep ball. Head Coach Norv Turner is going to want to spring his newest target deep early and often to try to stretch out this Oakland secondary, and taking a shot right away might be exactly what the doctor ordered. It’s tough to take a stab on what we expect a brand new receiver is going to do in his first reception with his new team, but with the speed that Meachem has, we’d take our chances that he is able to get at least 11 yards even if the pass is right at the line of scrimmage.

Darren McFadden To Score a TD (-130): What type of price is this on Run DMC to score a touchdown? We all know that if McFadden can stay healthy, he has a chance to run for 20 TDs this year, and that means that he is going to score a touchdown significantly more often than not in games. Remember that we get to cover all of McFadden’s touchdowns, including the ones on the ground and the ones as a receiver, and in a game that figures to see at least three TDs hit the board for the Raiders, common logic would have to suggest that one of them three goes to McFadden. If not…

Carson Palmer Over 1.5 TD Passes (+115): Basically, we think that both of these will happen, and though we think that the McFadden prop is a lot safer, we also think that the full offseason of preparation is going to make the former Cincinnati Bengal a whole heck of a lot more dangerous than he was last year.
