MLB Betting Trends for Series Starting 7/28 and 7/29

The largest spread from first place to second place in any division right now is the AL Central where the Detroit Tigers own a five game lead. Every single race is up for grabs. The Tampa Bay Rays are making noise and getting back into contention in the jam packed AL East race. The Los Angeles Angels aren’t letting the Oakland A’s out of their sights in the AL West. For the year, the best money team in baseball has been the Baltimore Orioles, closely followed by the Angels and A’s.

-Toronto has heated up again to keep the pressure on the Orioles in the AL East. The Blue Jays travel to Fenway to take on the Boston Red Sox this week. Toronto is 7-1 in their last 8 games against the Red Sox. Boston is 1-5 in their last 6 games overall. The over is 6-0-1 in the last 7 meetings between these teams.
-Oakland has the best record in baseball, and they just took advantage of a poor Texas Rangers team. Now, they get to take a short trip to Houston to play the lowly Houston Astros. Oakland is 24-7 in their last 31 meetings with Houston. They are 12-3 in their last 15 at Houston. Oakland is 43-16 in their last 59 games as a favorite. They’ll be favored in each of the games in this series.
-The Milwaukee vs. Tampa Bay interleague series is one to watch this week. The Brewers have righted the ship and are 5-2 in their last 7 games. Tampa Bay is 20-6 in their last 26 games. The Rays are just 6-13 in their last 19 interleague games. Milwaukee is just 7-20 in their last 27 games on turf.
-Washington is really playing good baseball of late. The Nationals look like the team many expected to see from day one this year. Washington is 14-5 in their last 19 games against Miami. The Marlins are 4-0 in their last 4 games overall, but they are 3-8 in their last 11 home games. The over is 6-0 in the last 6 meetings between these teams in Miami.
-The San Francisco Giants were just swept at home by their rivals from Los Angeles. How will they respond to this? Pittsburgh has been playing well of late, and they’ll be in San Francisco for a key series for both teams. The Giants are 6-19 in their last 25 home games. Pittsburgh is 14-6 in their last 20 vs. the NL West.
-The Phillies and Mets are both out of the race in the NL East, but they have both continued to play hard in recent weeks. The Phillies are 5-2 in their last 7 road games. The Mets are 7-1 in their last 8 home games. The over is 41-14-3 in the last 58 meetings between these two teams.
-The Yankees are 7-3 in their last 10 and the Rangers are in freefall right now. The Yankees will have their work cut out for them on Monday against Yu Darvish though. The under is 12-3-2 in the last 17 meetings between these two teams. Texas is 4-22 in their last 26 games vs. a team with a winning record.
