MLB Betting Trends for Series Starting 6/16 and 6/17
- Updated: June 16, 2014
Some things in baseball don’t make any sense. The San Francisco Giants have the best record in baseball. They were hosting the Colorado Rockies in a three-game series this past weekend. Colorado was 0-25 this year after trailing following the 7th inning before this series. The Giants also have one of the top five bullpens in baseball. San Francisco led after the 7th inning in all three games, and blew the lead every game. The Rockies are now 3-25 after trailing after the 7th inning. It’s hard to believe, but these kinds of things happen from time to time. It’s a long season, so keep grinding away!
BangtheBook wants to give you more information to make your mlb baseball picks winning ones this year. We will be posting this MLB trends article two times each week. Expect this article on Monday’s and Thursday’s of each week. This article will highlight trends to consider for this week’s series’.
-The Cleveland Indians are just 35-35 on the year, but they are 21-11 at home. They’ll host the Angels after being on a 10 game road trip for the last couple weeks. Cleveland is 6-0 in their last 6 home games vs. a team with a winning record. They are 50-20 in their last 70 games as a favorite. The Angels are 2-7 in their last 9 road games. The under is 40-19-1 in the last 60 meetings between these two.
-The Kansas City Royals are red hot and making a run at the Detroit Tigers. Kansas City is 5-0 in their last 5 road games. They are 7-0 in their last 7 games overall. Detroit is 20-7 in their last 27 home games vs. the Royals, and they are 6-0 in their last 6 games vs. the Royals. Kansas City needs to make a stand in Detroit this week and show the Tigers they are for real. This is a key series for both teams.
-The Tampa Bay Rays are skidding their way to a lost season. The Rays are 4-15 in their last 19 games overall. They’ll be home hosting the Baltimore Orioles the next few days. Baltimore is 5-0 in the last 5 meetings between these two. The Rays are 0-7 in their last 7 Monday games. They are also 0-6 in their last 6 vs. the AL East.
-The Mets are 0-6 in their last 6 road games. The Cardinals are 6-1 in their last 7 games overall. St. Louis is finally starting to hit their stride, and I expect the Cardinals to win a bunch of games this year. The Mets are 4-12 in their last 16 at St. Louis. Don’t expect that trend to change this week either.
-The Phillies are 20-41 in their last 61 road games. This Philadelphia team has fallen off in a big way from where they were a few short years ago. The Phillies are 1-5 in their last 6 games in Atlanta. Atlanta is 80-39 in their last 119 home games against a right-handed pitcher.
-The Blue Jays are atop the AL East, but they’ll have to change history if they are going to win their series in New York this week. The Yankees are 38-13 in their last 51 home games against Toronto. The Blue Jays are 13-3 in their last 16 road games. The Yankees are 10-1 in Tanaka’s last 11 starts, and he’ll start the series opener on Tuesday.
-The Giants look to get back on track this week as they travel to the south side of Chicago for an interleague series. The Giants are 7-0 in their last 7 interleague games. The White Sox have lost four straight games at home.
