MLB Betting Trends for Series Starting 5/22 and 5/23
- Updated: May 22, 2014
Quietly, the Oakland Athletics have now put together the best record in the majors so far this year. Oakland sits at 30-16 thanks in large part to their amazing 18-6 record on the road. This team does all the little things well, and they have no glaring weaknesses. Who are the biggest surprises in baseball thus far? I’d say the Minnesota Twins and Miami Marlins both sitting above .500 are big surprises. Both of those teams were pegged to be the worst in their division. Phil Hughes’ resurgence has bolstered Minnesota, and the Marlins are third in the majors in team batting average.
