MLB Betting Trends for Series Starting 4/24 and 4/25
- Updated: April 24, 2014
The Milwaukee Brewers have the best record in baseball. Atlanta and Texas aren’t far behind. It is important to note though, that Texas has played the worst schedule in baseball thus far, so they’ve yet to be tested in a big way. That will change soon. The Diamondbacks, Cubs, and Astros look like bottom of the barrel teams this year. Cincinnati and Atlanta and Boston and Toronto are two of the more interesting matchups this weekend. The majority of the weekend’s series’ start on Friday night.
BangtheBook wants to give you more information to make your baseball bets winning ones this year. We will be posting this MLB trends article two times each week. Expect this article on Monday’s and Thursday’s of each week. This article will highlight trends to consider for this weekend’s series’.
-After starting out playing some bad baseball, the Cincinnati Reds have won three straight series (two against the Pirates). The road gets tougher for them here though, because they’ll be against the Atlanta Braves on the road this weekend. Atlanta is 73-31 in their last 104 home games. The Braves are 6-0 in their last 6 Friday games.
-Kansas City and Baltimore are two teams around the .500 mark. The Royals are 8-3 in their last 11 during game one of a series, but they are 1-4 in their last 5 as a road underdog. The under is 6-1-1 in their last 8 meetings between these two teams. The under is 4-0 in the last 4 meetings between these teams in Baltimore.
-Pittsburgh was last year’s huge surprise, but the Pirates are off to a rough start this season. Can the Pirates turn it around in St. Louis this weekend? The Cardinals are 42-16 in their last 58 home games. St. Louis is 0-5 in Shelby Miller’s last 5 starts vs. the Pirates though, and he starts on Friday.
-The Padres and Nationals get together this weekend. A totals trend is going to have to give this weekend. The Padres are 17-4 to the under so far this year. The over is 6-0 in the last 6 meetings in Washington between these teams though, and the over is 11-3-1 in the Nationals last 15 games overall.
-Milwaukee is red hot to start the season, and it’s hard to see the Cubs stopping that momentum. The Cubs are 5-22 in their last 27 games at Milwaukee. Milwaukee is 51-12 in their last 63 games as a home favorite of -151 to -200. They’ll be a big favorite often this weekend.
-Houston has lost a bunch of games to pretty much everyone they play in the past couple years, but the Oakland Athletics have totally embarrassed them. Oakland is 23-5 in their last 28 against the Astros. They are 10-1 in their last 11 games at Houston.
-The under is 7-1 in the last 8 meetings between the Red Sox and Blue Jays. Mark Buerhle has been absolutely fantastic so far this year, and he’ll start Friday for Toronto. On the other hand, Boston is 10-1 in their last 11 road games vs. a left-handed starter.
-Detroit has felt right at home at Minnesota in recent years. The Tigers are 20-8 in their last 28 games in Minnesota. The under is 18-6-2 in the last 26 meetings between these two teams.
