A full slate in Major League Baseball, so we’ll get right to it.
Miami at Washington: The line on this one is around Nationals -210 and we made the line Nats -211, so definitely no value with either side on this one.
Atlanta at NY Mets: The Mets are -175 in this one and we made the Mets -154, so another game worth staying away from.
Colorado at Milwaukee: The Rockies are slight road favorites in this one and we made the Brewers -128, so a little bit of value with the home underdog in this spot.
San Diego at LA Dodgers: The Dodgers are -360 and we made Kershaw a -288 favorite, so one that’s probably best to stay away from. This is the seventh time that Kershaw has been a favorite of -350 or more in his career. The Dodgers have won the other six by an average of 3.5 runs, with just one of those coming by one run, so the run line may be the way to go if you have to play this one. The last eight favorites of -350 or more have won and two of those were by a single run.
Philadelphia at Cincinnati: We made the Reds -123 in this one and they’re currently -115, so not much one value one way or the other.
Detroit at White Sox: Justin Verlander and the Tigers are -120 in this one and we have the White Sox as -102 favorites, so it’s a case of picking an underdog to win straight up, but really not much value with the home team.
Seattle at Houston: The Mariners don’t hit left-handers as well as right-handed starters, but not sure they should be such large underdogs in this spot. Felix Hernandez is slowly getting up there in years, but can still be dominant. The Astros are -148 and we made Seattle -106, so a bit of value with the road team.
Toronto at Baltimore: We made the Orioles -158 and they’re currently -130, so slight value with the home team, but wouldn’t want to lay the odds with the Orioles.
Kansas City at Minnesota: The Twins are -113 and we made Minnesota -108, so definitely one to stay away from.
Cleveland at Texas: Darvish and the Rangers are -109 and we have Cleveland -106, so we’re pretty close to the line on this one.
LA Angels at Oakland: We have the Angels -109 and they are -112, so nothing doing in this one, although it doesn’t say much for the Angels’ rotation when Ricky Nolasco is your opening day starter.
Pittsburgh at Boston: The Red Sox are -165 and we made them -213, but laying -165 is a bit steep, especially this early in the season.
