Milwaukee Bucks vs. Boston Celtics: NBA Free Pick

Milwaukee Bucks
(1-3, 2-2 ATS)

Boston Celtics
(3-1, 2-2 ATS)

Both the Boston Celtics and Milwaukee Bucks had high hopes for a great season in 2010-11. The two will square off in NBA betting action on the Parquet Court on Wednesday night in a nationally televised affair on ESPN.

The Bucks really have yet to figure out how to put the ball in the hoop this season, and that’s why they are struggling at 1-3 SU and ATS on the campaign. They rank dead last in scoring at 87.5 points per game and rank No. 24 or worse in every shooting category the league has to offer as well. F Carlos Delfino is leading the team in scoring at 16.0 points per game, which is awfully bad news for a team that features some big time scoring names. F Corey Maggette, G Brandon Jennings, F Drew Gooden, and G John Salmons are all shooting less than 40 percent from the floor for the season, with Salmons being particularly dreadful at 26.8 percent. Another problem that this team is having is distributing the rock. We know that Jennings has the ability to dish it out, as he has 34 assists in just four games this season. The problem? The rest of the team has only combined for 33 assists… and 49 turnovers… Yikes! The Bucks haven’t won a game on the road since Game 5 of the first round of the playoffs against the Atlanta Hawks, a stretch of three straight both SU and ATS. Milwaukee also hasn’t covered a game as an underdog in that string of games either.

Boston, on the other hand, is starting to put up some really nice figures offensively. The team might only be scoring 97.2 points per game, but it is shooting 48.3 percent from the field as a team, good enough for No. 3 in the NBA coming into Wednesday night. The C’s have rolled to two straight victories, as they just crushed the Detroit Pistons 109-86 last night in Motown before coming back home for two Central Division foes. G Rajon Rondo has been absolutely nuts this year. He is averaging a whopping 16.8 assists per game and is clearly in front of the NBA by a country mile in that category. Rondo has 67 assists this year, the exact same number that the Bucks have as a team. He’s making life a lot easier for the scorers on this team, which is where there are so many easy looks at the basket. The “Big Three” of F Paul Pierce, F Kevin Garnett, and G Ray Allen are all averaging at least 15.0 points per game. F Glen Davis might only be on the court for 27 or so minutes per game, but he is making the most of them. Davis leads the team with a 62.2 shooting percentage, and he is the top bench player right now at 13.2 points per game.

The Bucks are going to score eventually. They just have to. This is a boatload of points to be asking a team to lay against a solid club, especially after having played in a different city just the night before. Yes, we think that the C’s are going to win this basketball betting affair, but Milwaukee should beat the NBA odds.
