Week 14 of the 2021-22 NBA season tips off Monday, January 17, so we’re taking a closer look at the Eastern Conference showdown at State Farm Arena in Atlanta, Georgia, to get you the best Bucks vs. Hawks betting pick and odds.

Milwaukee and Atlanta continue their three-game regular-season series. Back in November, the Hawks trounced the Bucks 120-100 as small 2-point favorites with a total of 223.5 points on BetDSI Sportsbook.

The Bucks dropped five of their last seven games

The Milwaukee Bucks fell to 27-18 straight up and 20-25 ATS on the season following a 103-96 defeat to the Toronto Raptors this past Saturday. It was their third loss in the last four outings and fifth in the previous seven, while the Bucks have covered only twice in that seven-game stretch.

Milwaukee had an awful shooting night against the Raptors. The Bucks made only 33.8% of their field goals and 30.8% of their 3-pointers. Giannis Antetokounmpo accounted for 30 points, six rebounds, and four assists, while Khris Middleton added 16 points on 3-for-12 shooting from the field.

The Bucks tally 111.9 points per 100 possessions (tied-6th in the NBA) and surrender 108.0 points in a return (also tied-6th). However, over their last seven showings, the reigning champs have scored 107.7 points per 100 possessions (23rd) on a 51.2 effective field goal percentage (22nd).

The Hawks are in big trouble

The Atlanta Hawks (17-25; 15-27 ATS) are riding a five-game losing streak following a 117-108 home loss to the New York Knicks this past Saturday. Playing as 1.5-point home favorites, the Hawks failed to cover for the fifth straight contest. They are 2-9 SU and ATS in the last 11 games at any location.

Atlanta trailed New York for most of the game and by as many as 17 points. Trae Young had 29 points and five assists, while John Collins added 13 points and three rebounds. Clint Capela (ankle) sat out his fourth straight contest, and he’s questionable to play Monday against the Bucks.

The Hawks score 113.6 points per 100 possessions, posting the second-best offensive rating in the NBA. On the other side of the ball, the Hawks have been awful thus far, yielding 115.1 points per 100 possessions (28th) on 47.0% shooting from the field (tied-28th).

Trends:

Milwaukee:

  • 4-2 ATS in the last six games against Atlanta

Atlanta:

  • 0-5 ATS in the last five games overall
  • 0-11 ATS in the last 11 games at home

Milwaukee Bucks vs. Atlanta Hawks Pick

The Hawks have been a complete disaster as of late, especially on the defensive end. On the other side, the Bucks haven’t impressed in their last seven outings, but they certainly look like a better team than Atlanta.

Hereof, I’m going with the visitors to cover. The Bucks should be fired up to get revenge for that ugly 20-point loss at State Farm Arena in November. It won’t be an easy task, as Atlanta also has a huge motive, hoping to break out of its funk. The Hawks have gone only 1-10 SU and 0-11 ATS in their last 11 outings on the home court.

Pick: Take Milwaukee Bucks

The Total:

The over is 7-3 in Atlanta’s last ten games overall. On the other side, the under has hit in Milwaukee’s previous five outings. When it comes to their head-to-head duels, the under is 6-3 over the last nine, but two of the previous three have gone over the total.

The Hawks’ defense will have a tall task to slow down Giannis Antetokounmpo, especially if Capela remains sidelined. Clint is a vital part of Atlanta’s D, so I’m backing the over on the totals. Atlanta averages 97.3 possessions per 48 minutes (19th in the NBA), while Milwaukee registers 99.3 (9th).

Pick: Go over
