In the Cowboys’ last outing, they lost big to the Wisconsin Badgers, 83-63. With 20 points on 6-for-9 shooting, Shamarkus Kennedy was McNeese State’s leading scorer. Wisconsin had a turnover percentage of 12.5 (better than their season average of 16.5). McNeese State, on the other hand, did a fantastic job of converting from the free throw line (13-17; 76.5 percent).
The Lobos come in on a high note after defeating the Green Bay Phoenix in their last game, 93-78. With 31 points on 9-for-16 shooting, JaQuan Lyle was the top scorer from either team. New Mexico dominated nearly every stat category in the game. They had a ridiculous free throw rate of 0.338 and an offensive rebounding percentage of 25.6. For those same stats, Green Bay had marks of 0.107 and 19.6, respectively.
It will be a showdown of opposite tempos as the fast-breaking Lobos will look to push the slower-paced Cowboys. Since last season, the Lobos rank 19th in possessions per game while the Cowboys are 237th.
