The NBA action continues with a ten-game slate on Tuesday, February 28, and here you can get the best Lakers vs. Grizzlies betting pick and odds.
Los Angeles is searching for the fourth straight victory when they visit Memphis at FedExForum. The Grizzlies are -5.5 favorites on BookMaker Sportsbook, while the total is set at 236.5 points. These conference rivals will meet for the second time this season; the Lakers won 122-121 in Los Angeles.
Lakers edged the Mavericks in Dallas
The Los Angeles Lakers (29-32, 29-31-1 ATS) are on a three-game winning run for the first time since early January. The Lakers swept their two-game homestay with wins against the New Orleans Pelicans and Golden State Warriors and then opened a three-game road trip with a tight 111-108 victory over the Dallas Mavericks. Los Angeles managed to overcome a 27-point deficit, the largest deficit one team erased to get a W this year. Despite making only six triples opposite Dallas’ 20, the Lakers were better in both rebounds (56-48) and assists (25-21), while they forced 17 turnovers and committed 11 in return.
Anthony Davis led the Lakers with a double-double of a game-high 30 points and 15 rebounds along with four assists and game-high three blocks. LeBron James followed him with 26 points and eight boards, Dennis Schroder added 16 points and game-high eight dimes, while Jarred Vanderbilt recorded a double-double of 15 points and game-high 17 rebounds along with a game-high four steals.
PG D’Angelo Russell (ankle) is questionable to play against Memphis on Tuesday.
Grizzlies secured an easy home win over the Nuggets
The Memphis Grizzlies (36-23, 27-31-1 ATS) lost ten of the previous 15 games, but they did beat the best teams in the Western Conference – Denver Nuggets, in their most recent game. The Grizzlies limited the Nuggets to just 40.4% from the field and shot 47.4% on the other end. The hosts were also better from beyond the arc, hitting 15 shots opposite Denver’s 11, while they got ten steals and Denver answered with four.
Ja Morant led Memphis with a game-high 23 points, seven rebounds, and four assists. Tyus Jones had 17 points and game-high five dishes, Dillon Brooks, Luke Kennard, and Xavier Tillman scored 12 points apiece, while Desmond Bane posted a 10/5/4 line.
C Steven Adams (knee) is out indefinitely and will not feature against the Lakers on Tuesday.
- 4-1 ATS in the last five games overall
- 4-0 ATS in the last four games vs. a team with a winning straight-up record
- 5-11 ATS in the last 16 games overall
- 1-5 ATS in the last six games vs. a team with a losing straight-up record
- 1-4 ATS in the last five games following an ATS win
Los Angeles Lakers vs. Memphis Grizzlies Pick
The new-looking Lakers are showing improvement of late as they beat three respectable playoff teams (including the reigning champions) over that stretch. Memphis is not playing particularly well recently despite the most recent win over the Denver Nuggets, who are allowed to have an off night offensively from time to time. After the latest comeback victory against Dallas, I think the Lakers will be even more motivated to continue with the winning streak. Los Angeles is averaging 117.0 points per game opposite Memphis’ 115.9 ppg, and although the Grizzlies have a stronger defense, I am backing the visitors to at least cover here. I wouldn’t be surprised if they manage to get a straight-up W/.
Pick: Take the Lakers at +7.5 (-133)
Memphis is well-known for its fantastic home defense, and even though the rivals combined for 243 points in the last H2H duel (in L.A.), I don’t think we will have a high-scoring affair on Tuesday. The Grizzlies do have a top 10 D that allows 111.9 points per game, and I’d be surprised if they concede more than 115 against the Lakers here. Under is 13-3 in the last 16 H2H meetings; Under is 9-1-1 in the previous 11 H2H duels in Memphis, Under is 5-1 in the Lakers’ last six overall, while Under is 12-3 in the Grizzlies’ previous 15 overall.
Pick: Go Under 238.5 points (-130)
